Dog Lover in Need of Dog Fix

I am an extreme dog lover and have had dogs my whole life. I love taking the dogs for brisk coffee walks in the morning, leisurely walks in the evening, and long adventurous hikes on the weekends. I am known among my family and friends to have an extreme attention to detail when it comes to our dogs. I always notice every bump, lump, rash and personality change. All dogs are "my" dogs when they are with me. I think it is important to note that the reason I don't currently have a dog of my own is because I lost my bluetick coonhound, Humphrey, three years ago to cancer and I just haven't been ready (emotionally) to get another dog. I mention this only because I would personally be hesitant to have someone watch my dog who doesn't have one of their own.

Did not end up having to use Ashley but her communication was great. Will plan to use her next time we are in Vail.
We were so excited for Ashley to watch our dogs during our wedding weekend, and she was very responsive leading up to the weekend. She was supposed to watch them Thursday through Sunday and told us she works 8:30-5:30 on weekdays. We didn’t feel comfortable dropping them off at her Apartment while she was at work because we wanted our dogs to feel comfortable with her and not be left by themselves in an unknown place. She told us if we were uncomfortable dropping them off at her condo while she was at work, that she could pick them up after work. Thursday- we send her a message at 5:45 asking if she could stop by the hotel to pick up the dogs before we went to a family dinner, and we were told she can’t come pick them up because she’s cooking dinner. She asked if we had a way to get them to her place, and we did not. She told me I could modify the booking to get refunded for Thursday night and that she could watch them Friday and Saturday. The last time we heard from her was at 6:45 Thursday night. So she only communicated with us for 1 full hour the entire weekend. Friday- We asked her if she could pick them up after work from our rehearsal dinner location (which is minutes away from her condo) but as I mentioned above, she never replied to us. We brought them to our rehearsal dinner hoping she just couldn’t reply to us earlier because she was at work, but we were optimistic that she’d get back to us since she knew it was our wedding weekend. We sent her several messages asking for her real phone number, etc, all while also extremely busy with our wedding activities. Saturday- (our wedding day) the dogs had to be left in the hotel by themselves for 9 hours because we had nobody to watch them. We got several noise complaints while we were at our wedding and we were charged a fine. This situation caused much more stress on our wedding weekend than anything else. As I mentioned before, she only communicated with us through a couple messages for only 1 hour the entire weekend. I don’t know why we were ghosted after Thursday night, but it made our weekend SOOO much more difficult. Not only do we 100% recommend you choose another sitter, but so do the 150 wedding guests who felt so terrible our dogs were neglected.
Ashley has been a great dog sitter for Fox. She was extremely flexible with arrangements and easy to communicate with. We were grateful to have her help over the holidays. Thanks Ashley!
Ashley was great!!! We definitely will be using her again the next time we are in the area!!!
