I've grown up caring for pets and have always been an animal-lover. I had a Golden Retriever from when I was 8 to 22 years old. We had a family cat among various pets. I owned 2 horses and spent most of my time on a farm around cows, pigs, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats. Since I was a teen, I was the main caregiver for all of these animals. I've lived in the NYC/BK area for 15+ years. My former roommate rescued an Irish Setter/Poodle mix puppy so I was a lucky co-parent for 6 months. She and the dog moved out to live in a bigger space, but I still sit for her all the time. I've cared for cats and dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds, from 3 month old puppies to elderly animals. I've administered medication for animals such as insulin shots for a diabetic cat. I've volunteered at the Animal Haven dog & cat shelter in NYC. This included working with animals that have disabilities such as physical impairment and epilepsy. I'm 33. I have a lot of energy and love to be outside, meaning lots of walks and playtime with your pet(s)! I understand dog etiquette in the city and would never put your animal in a harmful situation. I would be honored to take care of your cat or dog and would treat it as if it was my own! Additionally, I am a respectful guest who abides by house rules, including house maintenance and administrative chores. Happy to provide references upon request! I'm ideally looking for a place to stay in return for pet-care. I just moved back to the NY/NJ area from London so I'm in between places at the moment. My parents live in New Jersey so I'm staying with them, but hoping to find a place temporarily in the Rockaways or Brooklyn.
