"I booked Ashlea O. to stay in my home with my dog while I was on vacation. Her profile says she is responsible and based on that I chose to meet her. We met several times beforehand and spent significant time together with my pet. I wanted her to be comfortable with Liberty and Liberty to be comfortable with her. During the stay we were in communication almost daily and when I returned she had sent me a message indicating the last time Liberty had been walked. All appreciated. The next day my neighbor stops me and tells me he saw a man going into our building with my keys. He asked him who he was visiting and the man said he was there to walk Liberty. The next day my neighbor saw him leaving. I asked Ashlea about it and she said that that was her boyfriend, she had a conflict at work. I was livid. How dare she give the keys to my home to someone I didn't know??? I had left her an emergency contact in writing at the apartment and on the Rover site! WE had been in communication so why not tell me about the work issue and ask me if she could ask her boyfriend to cover for her?? I would have told her to call the emergency contact (or I would have). She didn't even mention the work issue or that she gave my keys and the care of my dog to someone else. She claims she wasn't trying to pull a fast one, but it honestly didn't seem like that since she had every opportunity to disclose it, but chose not to. Thank goodness for my neighbors because without them I would never had known. Needless to say, this experience was quite disturbing and disappointing and in no way an indication of any experience I have ever had with a Rover sitter/walker. I've been on Rover for many years and still use them for my dog walking and have several other sitters (that just weren't avail that week) that actually are responsible and that I trust. Just one bad experience but thought I should mention it.

Our dogs liked Ashlea immediately! She was attentive and a great dogsitter - everything was as we left it!
