Caring for Your Pups & Kittens

Pet care experience

-COVID-19 Safety- *Covid-19 vaccinated* -PET CARE EXPERIENCE- Growing up, I had all kinds of pets such as hamsters, a parrot, a 75 gallon tank with African Cichlids, other freshwater fish, lizards, and a Rottweiler named Bobo. In college, I trained my mom’s two puppies to perform basic commands, walk on a leash, and even learn the “seek” command. My step dad also had a 13 year old miniature pinscher named Pebbles who I took care of and gave lots of love to before her passing. I also volunteered on the weekends at a Southern California animal shelter for several months before moving. Most of my duties there were walking or running with dogs of all sizes, playing with pups, creating a calm/relaxing environment for senior or injured dogs. I also helped train a Belgian Malinois puppy named Rue with basic scent training for a search and rescue organization. I have a lot of experience pet-sitting/house-sitting for friends, family, as well as coworkers who have multiple cats and dogs, big and small. While pet-sitting, I take care of each of their needs (walks or runs, play, feeding, watering, waste clean-up, etc). For all the dogs I have pet sat or owned, the dogs were walked at least twice a day. For the dogs at the animal shelter, I tried to spend extra time with them, especially the ones who needed more exercise or attention. Exercise is so important for dogs’ not only physically but also mentally. It gives pups a way to release pent up energy, and if consistent, it promotes a longer life for your best friend. I currently own two cats, Nino (6 yr old Tabby) & Bella (5 yr old American shorthaired). They have completely different personalities but to me they are perfect. I try to spend plenty of time cuddling with them, playing with them, spending time on our patio together relaxing, and of course talking to them. They’re amazing listeners 😇 I also have 2 community fish aquariums and a 1 year old Crested Gecko named Xarrid 🦎 -PET CARE- While caring for your pets, I will be spending at least 15 mins (for a dog 30 min drop-in ) actively playing with or exercising them in order to help the pet release any pent up energy they may have. Play time with cats vary upon the cat’s energy/comfort level. I also try to care for each pet as if they were my own, making sure to give them plenty of attention. I ask clients to help me be familiar with their pets’ daily routine and any other details I need to know, so I can keep it as consistent as possible and properly care for their pets.

I cannot say enough how grateful my son and I are to have Ashanti as a sitter. She is so good with my two kitties and they love it when she comes around! And since we started booking Ashanti my son got his first pet fish and Ashanti has showed his fish “Goldie” so much love and care just like the kitties. When we get home from our trips our pet family is the happiest!!!

I love to keep my clients’ pets engaged and play or exercise them thoroughly so they are more inclined to rest after my visit or walk. This is to stimulate them physically and mentally and keep them happy during their parent’s absence. I’d love to know their favorite games or toys.
