Information Aro R. would like to know about your pet
I prefer to know as much about your dog ahead of time as you think is relevant. I like to know feeding and walking schedules to make sure my schedule will align well with your pet's schedule. I prefer to know about any medications so I know if I'm familiar with it and comfortable giving it (I probably am - I have experience pill popping when necessary and injecting insulin and vaccines, in addition to the easier methods like slathering the pill with peanut butter). I also like to know about any injuries or pre-existing conditions so I can make sure to keep an eye on them and treat those appropriately. The more details I know about your pet's normal routine, the closer we can stick to it so your pet stays happy and comfortable!
A typical day
We will go on long walks and play in dog parks if those are things your dog enjoys. We will play fetch and tug-o-war and any other games your dog wants to play. When we're all tired out from playing, we'll relax on the couch or wherever your pet's favorite spot is.

Pet care experience
I am fear-free certified. I have cared for my own pets and for my family's pets for as long as I can remember. I worked at an animal shelter, doggie daycare, and a canine rehabilitation group, so I have extensive professional experience caring for dogs from all walks of life. I have the kind of personality animals tend to gravitate toward, regardless of whether they usually like people. I have befriended anxious dogs who usually fear humans and earned the acceptance of aggressive dogs. I am as happy on a leisurely stroll for a mellow dog who wants to sniff and explore as I am to tire out a dog with boundless energy. I will always customize my care to give you and your pet the best possible experience - your pet will barely know you're gone! I will customize my care to whatever suits you and your pet best! For dogs with lots of energy, given good weather, I will let them run around a dog park playing fetch, tug-o-war, or with other dogs for as long as they want if that is something you and your pet would both enjoy. I will take them on long walks and make sure they are properly exercised so you come home to a tired and happy dog. For mellower pets, I am happy to hang out and cuddle on the couch with them. I will always go over care instructions before starting a service so I understand your pet's feeding schedule, walking schedule, etc. I have a good eye for detail and a solid understanding of dog body language, so I will make sure to listen to both of you to tell me what will give you the best experience!

We had a mostly positive experience with Aro. Our dog seemed well cared for, and the house was left in great condition. Communication was generally good, and they were friendly and responsive throughout the process. That said, we did encounter a discrepancy regarding their time in the home — we were told they were present during certain hours, but based on what we observed, that wasn’t the case. While it didn’t ultimately impact the care our dog received, honesty and transparency are really important to us when entrusting someone with our pet and home. Overall, we’re grateful for the help and had no issues with the quality of care, but this detail kept it from being a 5-star experience
