I have always been surrounded by dogs since a small child. I have looked after dogs of many different breeds and sizes since the age of 12. Family and friends have always trusted me to care, walk and bathe their furry friends. I make my boarding/ doggy day care a home from home experience the moment they step foot through the door 🐾. A highlight of our boarding is the location. A beautiful thatched cottage nestled in the scenic countryside of Welford. Your pooch will be spoilt for choice by the different walks that are on offer in the array of fields, canal walks and village strolls. A little countryside retreat for your best friend!

Arlena had Jarvis, our cockapoo, for 3 nights. She was extremely kind and welcoming and you can tell straight away she is a ‘dog-lover’. Arlena arranged a meet and greet prior to his stay and he got on really well with Oscar, her lovely Yorkie. Jarvis was obviously really well looked after and Arlena sent us regular ‘pupdates’ so we had peace of mind. We hope Jarvis stays at Arlena’s next time we are away.
Maggie had just the best time ever staying with Arlena! I received lots of lovely photos and updates from Arlena and it was very obvious to me that Maggie was thoroughly enjoying herself....lovely countryside walks, playing a running about with Oscar, Arlena's lovely Yorkshire Terrier and living the life of luxury that she expects as an older gal. This was my first time using a dog sitter boarding service and I am highly recommending it to all my family and friends. Arlena must be the best ambassador ever for Rover.com :)
Arlena was fantastic, she was able to take my daxie very last moment and sent lots of updates and photos. Wanda had a great day with Oscar and came back looking happy and tired! I would definitely use Arlena again.
If you want someone to really take care of your dog and give them lots of love & attention then Arlena is the one for you! Our dog loves going there and always returns happy. Highly recommend :)

Midsummer Cottage is a 2 bed, 3 storey with a shared courtyard garden. We do have a fenced section just for us so your dog will have privacy to do their business. It’s just myself & my Husband, no children. Plus, we only take one booking at one time for complete exclusivity. Depending on their routine, they can sleep down stairs either in their crate / floor / sofa. If they prefer being closer we’re happy to have them upstairs in their bed or crate.

It’s important for me to know as much as possible about their routine! See below examples of information that would be very useful for me to have for their stay. Feeding- Wet, Raw or Dry diet? Feeding times? Slow feeder needed? Walks- Do they have recall? How are they on lead? How do they interact with other dogs? Are you comfortable with them being off lead during their stay? Any health advisories or Allergies? Any behavioural quirks I should know about? (Ie stealing socks!!)
A typical day
The day would start with a beautiful morning walk in the Northamptonshire countryside to take in all the new scents and explore, partnered with lots of play on and off lead (depending on your preference). Lunch time is playtime!!!! We have a selection of balls & toys, lickimats and briar roots to keep them stimulated throughout the day. We also go on a small evening walk to get them tired ready for bed. Ohhh and not forgetting the constant cuddles and kisses at all times of the day!

Availability
I work from home and can be fully flexible on my time. There is always plenty of time for playtime and cuddles throughout the day. If we ever need to pop out we never leave the dogs for more than 2 hours and will discuss with you how is best to leave them as per their routine.
