Pet care experience
I've taken care of dogs (including my family's anxiety-riddled rescue pup) since age 12 and cats (including extremely skittish kitties) since age 16. Now, I have a wide range of experience with pets of all ages and persuasions, granting me the confidence to respect and adhere to the needs of each individual pet. I specialize in connecting with more anxious animals and have been known to unexpectedly bring them out of their shells!

Ariella is a wonderful sitter who took fantastic care of our 1yr old cat. She’s a great communicator and sent tons of pictures/videos of our cat. We’ll definitely hire her again!
I’ve never seen someone connect so well with animals of all types so quickly, and I worked at the SPCA for 2 years. I’m convinced Ariella was a cat in a past life, they adore her as much as she adores them. Her heart is filled with love for pups, kits, buns, cows, even reptiles (which i really wish i could personally love more). She takes such good care of my furr babies, leaves them with cat TV and scratches all their favorite spots. I caught BOTH my cats sleeping on her at the same time. I’m lucky to have an animal lover like her around. Never fails to make me smile.

I own many of the necessary supplies for dog sitting and walking, including portable bags and a harness, and love spending time outside - I'll happily take your pup to the dog park or more quiet, secluded outdoor spaces to exercise if they're intimidated by other dogs! Additionally, I can pretty much sleep anywhere, so when it comes to house sitting, I'm happy to accommodate your pet's needs to maintain their sense of comfort and normalcy! Just let me know how your fur babies like to hang out, and I'll accommodate. I largely attribute my success with skittish pets to allowing them space to engage with me on their own terms and creating a calm environment that allows for cautious, slow introductions.

A typical day
I’m a student and young professional artist, so I spend much of my time in cafes, parks, and beautiful nooks and crannies in the city that inspire me! I am quite familiar with the parks (and dog parks) in Manhattan and Brooklyn and look forward to planning walks that suit your pups’ needs!

Availability
I'm a part-time student finishing my last semester at NYU, majoring in Environmental Studies with a focus on Animal Studies. This spring, my classes only occupy Thursday afternoons, so I have the flexibility to orient much of my schedule around pet care. I live with my partner, and we have two (spoiled) long-haired cats named Ivy and Todd, aged 6 and 7 respectively, who receive daily brushings, pets, treats, play, and (of course,) litter cleanings. If we don't scoop the litter at least daily and change it a couple of times a week, they pee on things, so needless to say, my standards of cleanliness have become exceedingly high and pet care has become an integral part of my routine.
