I started pet sitting and dog walking through Rover in 2019, in addition to dog walking through another app. I regularly pet sit for my employers, coworkers, friends, and roommates, including an instance in which I stayed at my boss's house for two weeks to watch his two-year-old labrador mix while he was out of town. The following experiences exemplify my love for animals and the kind of care I will give to your pet: #1: I spent an hour patiently waiting for a rescue dog (traumatized by prior abuse) to warm up to me enough to get out of her cage and go for a 30 minute walk. After many treats and reassurances, she quickly learned to trust me and was beaming the entire walk. I sent the owner multiple pictures to show her progress. #2: I pet sat two elderly dogs, one of whom started to show signs of illness while I was house sitting. The moment I noticed changes in his behavior (not eating, low energy), I contacted the owners, who guided me through the situation and were appreciative of my care and concern. Outside of these pet care apps, I am still a gigantic animal lover. I grew up with a border collie mix named Domino. Domi and I would oftentimes have staring contests (he was really good at holding eye contact), and he would always win. At school, I would always eagerly attend University-hosted therapy dog events prior to exams, just so I could spend time with some loving pups. I hope to soon get a dog of my own so that I can shower it with lots of love and affection. In the meantime, I am satisfied being a loving aunt to my roommates' shih-poo mix, whom I often take on long walks and engage in tug-of-war battles.
