Not a pleasurable experience. Our 7 month old puppy is a great dog. All we needed was socialization as she doesn’t like other dogs very much right now. Ariel uses a very antiquated philosophy of “the human is the master and the dogs only purpose in life is to serve you”. We paid for two sessions where he would observe our dog at his house with some other customer dogs. My alarm bells went off internally when he refused to use a harness. He prefers a tight dog collar because it’s “easier to correct” unwanted behaviour. We picked up our dog at 4:15 and both days she slept from 5pm to the next morning. It was a combination of sheer exhaustion and trauma. It’s a heat wave and we learned that he takes the dogs on multiple 1 hour walks. His techique seems to be to tire out the dogs so they have no energy to resist. We felt like the life was sucked out of our active puppy. Forward a day later and we came back from the vet. Our dog has burned paws from the walks and we got ointment. When we emailed him he said “it’s common in the summer”. Sigh. He also likes to control the narrative. Multiple times we were told “we are the problem”. For example - I was scolded by him when I kissed my puppy after not seeing her for the entire day. “That’s enabling her…” was his response. Anyways. We cancelled after 2 services. We prefer a more reward based approach with love and affection. As I told him …”I want a four legged best friend who is my companion. Not a zombie dog”
