Hi there! My name is Ariadne, I’m a PhD student here at Durham University, and I’m super excited to have the opportunity to take care of your best friend! I definitely understand that life gets crazy and you might have to stay at work late or go on a last-minute overnight business trip; that’s why I’m here. I’ve grown up around rescue dogs my entire life, and have been taking care of dogs generally for about 12 years. I used Rover before in the US and maintained a 5-star review with several repeat clients. I am very capable of handling all sorts of furry companions from miniscule to giant, young to old, and friendly to territorial. Dog, cat, and reptile friendly! Hi I’m John! I recently finished my postgrad degree at Durham and am now working from home with flexible hours. I have several years of experience with dogs, rabbits, and lizards and am keen to help Ariadne out in any way I can. Especially when there are multiple pets to care for, in our experience having two people allows us to give your pets the individual attention they deserve. With that said, we are aware that sometimes dogs have specific handling needs or gender preferences, so we’re happy for just one of us to take care of them.

We left Dexter with Ariadne and John while we attended the funeral of my Husbands brother and needed someone to take care of Dexter overnight. Ariadne and John were the perfect choice. Dexter is a rescue with various troubles including Dog reactivity and anxiety. In addition, we have never left him before so we didn’t know how he would react. We needn’t have worried. Ariadne and John showered Dexter with attention and affection. They sent lots of photos and videos of Dexter playing (and sleeping!) which immediately put our minds at rest. Ariadne has a very calming and relaxed way about her which no doubt helped Dexter with his (and my) anxiety. Although we didn’t meet him, they sent videos of John playing with Dexter which would have immediately made him Dexters best friend! I’m so pleased that we left Dexter with Ariadne and John and would highly recommend them. We hope to see them again soon on our next visit to Durham.

A typical day
I like to take my charges to the park and around the neighborhood so we both can get our daily steps in. I’ll also gladly spend a little extra time playing fetch, brushing your pup, feeding them, or just lounging around with them after their walks.

I (Ariadne) am a PhD student located in Durham and as such my work days are extremely flexible and I have the freedom to work from anywhere. I (John) have a flexible remote job and can also work from anywhere.
