Pet care experience
I've loved animals since I was a kid, so when the day came I got my own cat, I loved and care for it like a human child. Some facts about me: - Presently a pet parent to an asthmatic cat (who does a twice daily inhaler + oral meds) - Previously volunteered at a dog shelter in SF for 18 months (e.g. walking, training, feeding, etc. with adoptable and special needs dogs) - Cared for numerous friends and family members’ cats and dogs, and even a couple of pot bellied pigs! - Previous pet parent to a geriatric cat with heart and kidney issues who also turned deaf.
Reviews
April is a great, detail oriented petsitter! I know that my cat will be taken care of when I book her. April responds quickly, communicates clearly, and loves animals. Thanks April!
My kitties are pretty shy, and this was my first time away from home since getting them, so I was nervous about how they would do. I was happy to see the photos April shared from her first visits where they were checking her out and eating with her there. It really put my mind at ease that they would be okay and were in good hands!
April is a highly responsible, attentive and caring person. She provided great care for my two cats, one of whom is incredibly shy and the other who is kind of a jerk. I would not hesitate to leave my kitties in her care again.
I have known April for over a decade, and she has always been an animal advocate, volunteering in a dog rescue and personally rescuing three cats with special needs in that time. I have no reservations in recommending April to Rover.

Safety, trust & environment
My focus area is on cats but I also love dogs. I recently completed pet CPR training and hope to never have to use that skill. I am comfortable giving oral medications and focus on being patient and attentive to an animals needs based on their behavior and body language.
Information April Y. would like to know about your pet
Any behavioral or medical needs such as allergies or leash reactive. I'd encourage a written list of medical conditions to ensure I have the most comprehensive care information. If your dog is special needs (e.g. deaf, blind, wheel chair bound) how can I best comfort them.
A typical day
Walk around the neighborhood (if allowed) or play fetch in your yard. If you have a very active dog and it is dog friendly, I may take it hiking (on leash) on a trail.
Services
April can watch in your home
Availability
Weekday evenings and weekends. My client volume is limited to 1 - 2 clients at a given time to ensure your pet (aka furbaby) is given the TLC it needs when I visit.
