I’ve raised an American Eskimo puppy from six weeks to December 2019 when he crossed the rainbow road one last time. It broke my heart. He was my best friend. I learned a lot about training but also learned a deeper understanding of communicating with animals in their own special way. Dakota taught me to listen to my furry friends and once trust is gained, the animal becomes my best friend. I think it’s because they think I can maybe understand them in some ways. But I brought this skill to raising kitties from birth to rehome and age 1 when I rescued a Queen from a bigger cat and was able to gain her trust enough for her to let me touch her and eventually hold her. I was the only human she would go to. When she had her kittens, I brought them inside without a thought of what she might do. But she followed me and the box I put all five newborn babies in right inside of my home. I helped her with raising and babysitting so she could still go ramble in the backyard and I would stay or play with the babies while she could. I think it helped the babies thrive even more because all five of this kitty’s first litter survived and thrived and all five are now happily in their furever home. I pride myself in what I can do for an anxious puppy or kitty that needs that extra attention in order to stay calm. I’m a good listener to them and I found that when I listened to them, they wanted to listen to me and learn things from me. I help these babies and have a joy in my heart because I know I’m helping. It’s not about the money. But getting paid does help my bills. I do it for the unconditional love I feel towards these babies and that reciprocated love right back at me.
