Need TLC for your extended family?

Pet care experience

I have grown up and cared for several different breeds of dogs & cats, including the occasional turtle, ferret, snake and gator. I am a lover of all types of pets and would be happy to help care for your extended family member(s) as though they were one of my own. I'm NAPPS certified (please check my profile photos for certificate) and just recently signed up for Pet First Aid & CPR ProTraining course.

Anthony sent pics of my dog throughout her stay. She was out having the time of her life. . .pretty sure she didn't even miss me! I highly recommend Anthony!

Anthony has always taken great care of our dog while we go on vacation. Would highly recommend his services. We also enjoy receiving lots of photos of her while we are away.

We have used Anthony few times already. I love the peace of mind knowing that my dog is gonna be taking care of extremely well, and will get plenty of exercise and playtime. My dog just loves Anthony. He is always excited when and when he sees them. I can’t think of a better place to leave my dog while we’re on vacation.

Safety, trust & environment

I know how hard it can be to trust someone with your beloved pet and understand it can be a stressful experience for all involved. There are times when a meet n greet just isn't enough time to see if the dogs will be a good fit so I'm happy to offer a discounted (or free) trial daycare visit to give them time to get used to each other and help set your (& my) mind at ease. While my dogs are allowed (and I don't mind having yours) on the furniture, I'll abide by the rules/training you've set for yours. For older dogs and/or those with issues walking on hard wood floors: I have rugs that can be set out to help with mobility. If your dog requires a special diet (needs food mixed with yogurt, etc.) or needs to take oral medication, not a problem! I’m happy to accommodate whatever is needed for the health of your pet. Since this is my only source of income, I typically need to take a minimum of 5 boarders at a time. Since I have quite a few repeat clients, there are times I may take more dogs (for boarding or daycare), especially if I feel I know the dog temperaments well enough to determine they might get along well and/or my mom will be around to help manage their care. While I will do my best to try and make sure your pet’s stay is a fun & safe experience, please understand that there is always a chance that something can occur when you have more than one dog under one roof (or in one yard). This is the main reason I encourage clients to book their stays thru Rover as they have a Rover Guarantee, which can include up to $25,000 in vet care for eligible claims (please see https://www.rover.com/terms/guarantee/). It’s my understanding that there is a $250 deductible that applies whenever a claim is submitted for reimbursement. While I wish I could afford to cover this cost for all my clients if such an unfortunate event should arise, it is not usually something I can afford to do. If this is a risk you don’t feel comfortable with, I would suggest finding a sitter that is able to afford only taking one client at a time.

Information Anthony W. would like to know about your pet

I'd like to know their medical history (including vaccination, flea/tick preventative and any supplement/medicine administration needed), whether there are any health / behavioral concerns or fears, how they get along with other dogs, what their potty-training level is, the commands they may know, what their daily routine is like and who to contact in case of an emergency. I have yet to meet a breed I don't like so I wouldn't say I have any breed preferences per say (they all deserve to be loved & cared for) but I do prefer they be house-trained and, for the safety of my other clients, that there are no known aggression issues. ***PLEASE NOTE: I do ask that all dogs be on some form of flea preventative, even during the winter, as we can have warm weather at times and fleas can survive outdoors in temps as low as 33 degrees for as long as five days. If you should have some concerns about this or your dog has issues with flea preventatives, please just let me know and we can discuss possible alternatives.

A typical day

If we are able to take walks (which can be dependent on the # of dogs in the house), we would explore our neighborhood, which would most likely include the lake that is at the end of our street. Other fun activities can be whatever your dog prefers but I know my dogs enjoy long walks, playing tug-of-war (or keep-away) and running around the house/backyard (usually chasing a ball or favorite stuffed animal/toy)

Taking care of pets is my only job so a good portion of my day is spent taking care of boarders inside my home, dropping in on other people's pets in their home or taking them for walks. I have a spacious backyard that provides a lot of room for energetic dogs, enough dog beds to keep them comfortable and enough toys to keep them occupied. I have a couple crates for those dogs that may need them (whether it’s to provide their own personal space or just a more secure space to stay when I’m not at home). I have two dogs at home. Buddy, the Feist/Boston Terrier, is energetic and usually eager to play or run around. He can be quite protective/possessive with his ball or Frisbee so sometimes gets a timeout in the house so other dogs can enjoy them as well. Smokey, the Toy Fox Terrier, is older and a little more laid back but still likes the occasional play and loves to take walks. My dogs love our spacious backyard and I'm sure your dogs will too.
