Hi, I am Annika. I grew up with dogs and later on volunteered next to my full time job in animal shelters and started dog sitting for friends and family. 10yrs ago when we got our own dog, we experienced on our own that it takes a good organization to give a dog the love and attention and walks and company . I love to take dogs out on a walk and offer the attention and love they need . Since a couple years we watch dogs for friends who are in need for a back up sitter . Since we hike a lot, we love to take the dogs with us to guarantee that they get their daily exercise and activities over the day

Despite being my first overnight experience with a sitter, I can’t imagine a more capable and caring caretaker than Annika. Very happy with the quality of care and would happily trust our pup with her and her family again.
Annika was great! Our pup seemed super happy and loved staying with her. She made everything super easy coordinated pickup/drop off too.
Annika was an amazing sitter with my puppy Naja! It was such a joy to see Naja enjoying herself with Annika and their family. Seeing photos of Naja playing, running, and smiling while I was away from home was such a treat to see and brought me comfort to know she was happy :)

Our home features a fenced backyard, perfect for furry playdates, complemented by the company of our beloved 12-year-old Westie, who adores the company of other furry friends. Nestled near numerous fenced-off leash areas and parks, we're spoiled for choice when it comes to outdoor adventures. Equipped with toys, treats, and spare harnesses and leashes, we ensure our canine guests feel right at home. Surrounded by a dog-friendly neighborhood, we strive to cultivate a welcoming environment that feels like a second home for our furry visitors.

A typical day
I have a car available and am happy to take the dogs for walks in their familiar surroundings to help them feel at ease. Alternatively, we can venture to nearby parks or scenic spots like Thousand Acres, Sauvie Island, or Forest Park for a change of scenery. I always make an effort to understand the dogs' preferences and find their favorite environments to ensure they have an enjoyable experience.

Availability
As a self-employed individual, I enjoy the flexibility to manage my schedule, allowing me to spend ample time at home with our beloved dogs. I cherish moments like long walks and drives with them, whether it's to the fields, beach, or fenced-off leash areas around NE Portland. With a child in elementary school, we seamlessly integrate our dogs into our daily routines. Upon introducing them to a new environment, we prioritize their comfort by allowing them a couple of hours to settle in and explore the house before embarking on their first walk with us.
