Pet care experience
From Shepherds 🐕🦺 to Siberians 🐈, I've enjoyed having and taking care of dogs and cats for the past 10 years. I won first place basic obedience training with Kit, one of two black lab sisters we had growing up on the farm, but my 4-year-old Belgian Malinois rescue has taught me more about dog language in the last two years than I've learned in the last three decades by simply being himself. I also support organizations like Circle of Change that utilize dog training as a form of mental wellness for children, first responders and veterans.

As a professional dog trainer, I would highly recommend Annie for your pet care needs! She has taken care of our 2 dogs several times, and I always know that I can trust her to do a great job. She also has her own dog, a Belgian Malinois. As a big dog, he can sometimes be a handful, but she handles him quite well. I have been impressed with his level of training--she even taught him to put away his own toys! :) Annie is a responsible, calm, and centered person which are essential qualities when working with animals, and I know she will do well with your pets!
Annie would be an excellent edition to the Rover team. As a dog owner, she understands the needs of animals and has a lot of patience when working with more challenging breeds. I have two large Siberian Forest Cats and Annie has also done a wonderful job of caring for my girls when I've had to be out of town. Annie is conscientious, honest, and has great empathy. She will go above and beyond for any pet that she is asked to care for.

A typical day
Dogs require both mental and physical activity throughout the day. Playing is training! Depending on your pet's needs, I'm happy to provide walking, running, playing or even just driving around with an open window on a beautiful sunny day. I've worked with many trainers to better understand my Belgian Malinois and have witnessed a combination of tactics works better than sticking to just one strategy. I've used anything from treats to praise from prong colors to slip leads and e-collars all under the direction of experienced trainers. Popular trainers I subscribe to include Cesar Milan, Susan Garret, Tom Davis, Larry Krohn, Will Atherton, Beckmans, and Robert Cabral. Just like humans, dogs are not one size fits all learners.

Availability
I'm available primarily during the week days, but can also provide support for the dog parents on date nights. I'm not able to do overnights at this time but contact me if you have questions about special arrangements.
