Annie D, <250 dogs walked
Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Annie, I am a 27 year old living in connecticut and have extensive dog care experience. Through the Wag! app I walked over 250 dogs and had an average rating of 5 stars and many repeat clients - I started this during college when I was living in New Haven and continued through moving up to Hartford afterwards! I would like to extend my services, experience, and love for pups through this website/app with a better platform and communication abilities to provide excellent dog care that goes above and beyond your expectations! I can do walks and have a very flexible schedule, usually working for short shifts on the weekends. I've dealt with distracted puppies, laxidaisical seniors, and the slobbery, talkative, or chewy in between. Please contact me with any questions :-)

I recently hired Annie to house sit for my two Shih Tzu's while I was away on a business trip. Here is an overview of my experience: Initial Interaction: Annie was very sweet and kind during our initial communication on the Rover app. We arranged a meet and greet at my home where she interacted well with my dogs. We discussed the details of the house sitting arrangement, and she seemed attentive to my requirements. I informed her about the presence of cameras in the home's common areas and assured her there were none in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Annie was satisfied with this and accepted the house-sitting job. Booking and Stay: Based on our positive interaction, I booked Annie to house sit my dogs from Monday, April 22, 2024, at 7:00 am, to Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 12:00 pm. In the weeks leading up to the house sitting, I provided her with pictures of the bedroom and inquired about her food preferences, to which she opted to bring her own food. Despite a flight change, Annie graciously agreed to arrive 45 minutes earlier and accommodated the adjustment, departing early on the last day due to work commitments. Coordination was made for her access to the front door, which is locked/unlocked through "August." Throughout the stay, Annie kept in touch, sending pictures and videos of the dogs, which I appreciated. Concerns: Upon my return home, I was welcomed by cheerful dogs, yet I quickly noticed several concerning issues. The most notable included: - The back slider door was left unlocked. - The dogs did not have fresh water, the water bowl was almost empty, and the water was dirty. - A spray bottle of Clorox was left near the puppy pads, posing a significant risk as Clorox is toxic to animals and unsuitable for cleaning their areas Addressing Concerns with Annie: I contacted Annie regarding these concerns and shared pictures illustrating the issues mentioned, along with others not specified here. She apologized for leaving the Clorox bottle and expressed uncertainty about the appropriate cleaning products to use for the dogs. Upon her arrival, I guided her to the location of the cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink, emphasizing that the pet-friendly cleaning bottle contained no harmful chemicals. Annie reassured me that she had been changing the dogs' water multiple times a day, attributing the quick dirtiness to the dogs' behavior. Regarding the unlocked slider door, she clarified that she had only been instructed to manage the front door using the August app. Despite initially not feeling the need to monitor the cameras during Annie's stay, my concerns about the Clorox bottle accessible to the dogs prompted me to review the camera footage, revealing the following observations: - During the four-day stay, Annie only changed the dogs' water on Tuesday and Wednesday. The last water replacement was on Wednesday around 10:30 am. - The Clorox spray bottle was left near the doggies' puppy pads on Wednesday at around 11:30 am. - The camera footage captured Annie using the cleaning bottle located under the sink during the initial days of her stay. Final Thoughts: Before identifying these issues, I compensated her for her services and provided a tip via Venmo. While I appreciate Annie's assistance and attentiveness to my dogs during my business trip, upon further consideration, I have decided not to rebook her services in the future due to the concerns that surfaced during her stay. Nonetheless, I sincerely wish her ongoing success in her pet sitting business and I wish her the best in her future endeavors.
Annie was AMAZING! She took such great care of our babies. Patches has anxiety, and unfortunately gets sick sometimes from it, and Annie went above and beyond on making sure she was OK. She also sent us pictures and a video while we were away. Highly recommend this young lady!!
Annie is great! We have a very timid rescue dog and Annie was super gentle and caring with her. She sent us photo updates throughout the night. Would highly recommend!
Annie was very patient with this little guy. He loved all the walks, snuggles and treats. She took care of him and he was very happy. I know he still misses her. She even made him a sweater in the frigid weather. I would recommend her and book her again.

In my own home I have a fence, baby gates for any areas they can’t go (usually agreed upon after meet&greet) and love to give out treats if there are no medical issues that change diet! I prefer drop ins and sitting and love to adapt to your dogs schedule and playtime :) if they get their walkies daily we can do that, or playtime if you’ve got a sweet fenced in situation! Upon meeting up with people I love getting a feel for their dogs level of need & what they love about their home so I can keep that up for you while you need it.
Information Annie D. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences but would definitely love a description of your furry friend! Mainly how they interact with people they don't know, if they have experience being walked and what triggers they have to be aware of. High energy, low energy, nervous and specifically peeved by mailmen or squirrels? Lemme know!
A typical day
I am a nature lover and love taking even myself on walks - I'll be getting exercise and appreciating nature with a pup. I love to play and connect with the inner child to engage dogs I care for well enough that they use stamina and are appreciative of water n snackies when they get home :-) Fetch, frisbee, squeaky friends, sometimes dogs even join in when I do yoga to get their good stretch~ and I am always down with a dog who needs a snuggle to be comfy, but also have experience with some pups that have nerves and need just a bit of patience to come out of their shell!

I work part time at a museum in Hartford, so I have a generous amount of time during the week & weekend to give attention to your special friends. I drive throughout CT easily for drop ins and love to have my week made better with a furry friend :-)
