Information that is important to know for me is a dog's history with other dogs and animals, ie. how they play, if they are reactive or have PTSD from an incident, etc. Their health history, for example, breathing problems, overheating, gut health, and joint issues. This will help me pay extra attention to their care with the history in mind, as well as notice anything out of the ordinary. Their likes and dislikes, for example, my dog does not like people touching his paws that much. If they have recall issues in case theirs malfunction regarding their leash, so I know how to react immediately. If there are multiple pets in the household, I need to know their dynamic in case they need to be kept separate during any specific time such as feeding.

I give attentive care and play, engaging activities to stimulate their brains like hiding and seek, and general positive training. I might even bring some homemade dog treats with the pet parents' permission. With cats, I’ll try to see if I can teach them to sit as I have with mine, if anything I will play with the normal chase toys and give a lot of scratches. With exotic animals, I will just happily observe them living their best life after their care. I will also take care of any small things that need to be done around the home like watering plants as requested. You might find a surprise drawing or painting after an overnight stay as it’s a pass time of mine.
