I am a full time (online) grad student, with not much reason to leave the house apart from dog walks! Semi-recently we moved my 7 year old Cockapoo up from Florida, where my mother owns and operates a non-profit dog rescue there off the 'family farm'. He came from a household of 6 total dogs though, and I'm really trying to find him some friends! Dinton and I usually take 2-3 walks a day and spend some time at the dog park. He gravitates towards dogs of his size, and usually those out of the puppy stage. He has never snapped at anyone or any dog or cat. Most importantly, I would take care of your dog as my own, and as a full fledge helicopter mom, that's saying a lot! Especially in the city environment, unfortunately it doesn't take much for a minor mistake to have grave consequences and this is mainly what keeps me adamant about remaining cautious - both on the leash throughout the city, or staying vigilant at a dog park. Bringing Dinton to Chicago was a tough decision for me because I am so protective of him. I can relate with the struggle of putting trust in another person to care for your dog the same way you would yourself. Having to leave your companion is stressful enough, the last thing I want you to feel is any doubt that your dog is getting anything but the utmost attention and care while you're away.
