Dog Foster Mom and Trainer
Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Anne and I have two cats and two friendly rescue dogs named Ullie and Riley. You can trust I'm experienced with dogs and cats and will treat your furry family as my own. I've fostered over 15 rescue dogs over the years, have pet sit for all my friends and family, and have also pet sit through the Trusted Housesitters platform with 5 star reviews. I'm a positive reinforcement dog trainer at Good Dog, DYNO in Lakewood. I do private lessons and a day training program called Barks & Rec where we work on socialization and skills. The dogs I've had in my life have all benefitted from positive reinforcement training and enrichment activities and so I have years of experience with those techniques and don't go anywhere without my treat pouch. I even am training my current pup Riley to run agility courses! I believe in letting dogs sniff during their walks, reading dogs' body language and giving them space when they need it, and keeping dogs' brains active with learning. I've cared for all shapes, sizes and personalities of cats and dogs, so I'm ready for your pet whether or not they're a chewer, jumper, hider, escape artist, leash puller, squirrel chaser, leg humper, potty training dropout, reactive, or shy. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry family!
Reviews
Anne took wonderful care of my dog and provided many updates during her overnight stay!
My pup is a scared and barking rescue. Anne was so patient, thorough, and thoughtful leading up to and during the first overnight. It’s such a relief to have a caring person that can love my dog when I am away. She sent many updates, took as much time as my dog needed for drop off, and gave incredible feedback for me to celebrate and things to work on! I am so thankful and will absolutely be a repeat customer!
Anne is so patient with my nervous rescue! I feel so comfortable leaving him with her.
Anne is amazing! My doggo is a nervous rescue whom is very scared of new people. Anne was patient and understanding which lead to my doggo eventually relaxing in her presence. Thank you!!

If your pup will be staying at our home in the Highlands for day care or overnights, some things to know: - Our cats are kept separate from the dogs with pet gates and doors - I'd love to do slow intros to my dogs with a walk together first - We will be sure to give dogs time to play in our fenced back yard, if they're into that - Toys and treats are kept up for safety reasons and only given out when supervised - Our dogs are crate trained for bedtime and appreciate some alone time to cool off from time to time, and we can arrange that for your dog too; your dog doesn't have to be crate trained - We will not go to dog parks for safety/liability reasons - My dog's personalities: Riley is incredibly energetic, playful, and can be a little slow to warm up to new dog friends, but then she's your bestie for life. Ullie is calmer and gentle and takes cues from other dogs well, but he takes a minute to get over the initial excitement of a new friend.

Information Anne B. would like to know about your pet
I've been a dog mom to a dog-reactive dog, a resource guarder, and a chronic humper. I like to know what your dog is reactive to and what skills are harder for them so I can avoid the right things and keep them comfortable and safe. The more detail the better!
A typical day
2 walks a day, frequent supervised potty and play breaks in the yard. If you're ok with me giving your dog treats (yours or mine) we'll do positive reinforcement of good behavior on walks, enrichment puzzles and training games for the brain, etc. Rest is important too, so I'll make sure we get that in between things.

Availability
Besides dog training on Mon/Weds mornings, I work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and can do frequent potty breaks. My partner and dog-coparent Dan also works from home full time so between the two of us, your dog will always have company. ASK ME ABOUT MY NEW DOG HIKING SERVICE! I'm looking for one to two doggy clients that would benefit from a weekly hike on one weekday per week! We can work on recall with long-leads and get lots of sniffs and exercise.
