New to Rover, Not to Pet Care!
Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Annabella, a University of Arizona alumni with a Bachelor's in Law and Psychology, and I have a 3-year-old border collie named Iris. I am currently taking a gap year to study for my LSAT, so I am extremely flexible and available most days and times! My border collie is leash-reactive, so I understand the training, patience, and awareness needed to care for a reactive dog and to be ready for any trigger and response. I can take the best care of your pups and be prepared for any situation or behavior, allowing me to keep your dog safe and you stress-free. Iris being a border collie means I know how to exercise dogs physically and mentally, leaving them happy and restful for your return. I’ve fostered a handful of dogs with different temperaments and levels of fear. I enjoy nothing more than spending time with dogs, big or small, young or old, and I will always treat and love your dogs like my own, guaranteed!
Reviews
Annabella is wonderful with my reactive AmStaff Sparky. She re-enforces the training methods we use, follows my instructions, and is also corrective and loving. Annabella stays in touch with me thru texts, sending pictures and tracks her walks. She is a highly energetic, happy young lady! Definitely using again.! Highly recommend!
Annabelle was great and we highly recommend her ! She stayed at our house and gave our fur babies all the love and attention and really took care of them while we were away. We will be calling her again she is great!
Great drop in. Proactive communication. Vino was so happy and had a good time!
Anabella was excellent & went above & beyond our expectations. She texted often with pictures & texts of our fur babies & left our home spotless after spending a couple of days here. I think everyone adjusted quickly & our Border Collie got more than his share of attention! We will definitely use Anabella again.
About Annabella Z.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I am familiar with meeting new pets that may be timid and being able to gain their trust and respect with patience until they know I am part of their safe space, even if this takes time. I understand that not all dogs are the same, and I am happy to meet with families as often as needed until you and your furry family feel 100% comfortable with me. Your pets will receive frequent visits every 1-3 hours, and you will always receive photos of your pets! I am able to provide multiple walks a day for as long as necessary.
Information Annabella Z. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know about your pet's triggers and their normal reactions and behaviors to those triggers especially physical as well as the severity, so I can be prepared and evaluate situations. Along with this, is there any specific training or ways you handle these triggers so I can continue reinforcing that positive behavior. I would also like to know how they behave on a normal basis: are they usually active? vocal? sleepy? independent? just so I can measure how comfortable or nervous they may be. I am here to work with you and for you!
A typical day
A typical dog walking or sitting day will consist of the activities you are comfortable with! This could include a regular walk (always a "smell” walk), a hike on a normal or new trail, quality exercise at a park or in the backyard, or even at a dog park if they enjoy them! My limits for fun and exploration are yours! I will always have a ball, frisbee, treats (if wanted), and a water bowl on me for whatever activities your dog loves to do!
