I Just Want to Love More Puppers

Pet care experience

I’m now about 4 yrs into professional pet sitting & dog walking, & it’s just as fun as I imagined it would be! I love walking dogs, there’s two dog friendly parks around me I usually go to (San Pedro Park / Woodlawn Lake). I find that doggos love scenery as much as we do so I try to keep the scenery fun and exciting for them too. If you have an easy going dog or cat who likes attention and cuddles I’m the one for them! Please feel free to reach out to me with questions you may have for me! Thank you for your time! My info should be below. I schedule drop ins and walks around my existing work schedule. On weekends, my days are much more open and this opens my schedule a lot more. Because of my flexible schedule, pets are not left unattended more than 3 to 4 hours. I have a fenced yard for more time outside throughout the day. I can crate your dog if you prefer while I’m not home. Generally the dogs are always inside, & I keep an eye out while I let them play so they’re never unattended.

Anna has taken care of my babygirl Daisy for short and longer term stays for close to a year now. I always book with Anna because I am always assured that Daisy is in good hands. Daisy is kind of high maintenance, emotionally, and I am pretty selective about who I leave her with. Anna sends regular updates of Daisy cuddling with her or hanging out with other cute pups that she is pet sitting, and Daisy is always excited to see Anna when I drop her off, so I'm really happy with the help and peace of mind that I get from Anna's pet sitting service.

This review is based off of my experience and my experience only. I’m sure many others had a great experience with Anna, unfortunately that’s not the experience I had. I booked Anna because I read the great reviews she has and thought she would be a good fit for my dog. I gave her all pertinent information of my dog and after exchanging some messages and getting to know her a little better, I felt I could confidently book with her, and I did. The issue started when I informed her I’d be dropping my dog off AROUND 1:00 on his scheduled date of drop off. I was running about 10 minutes behind, but let Anna know around 1:13 we were on our way and it would take us about 13 minutes to get there. Anna then stated “I thought you said you were coming at 1:00”, to which I had to politely remind her of what I said about it being around 1:00 and not exactly at that time (I also sent the screenshot of me saying that). Anna informed me she had ordered food for pick up, which I thought was odd given she knew I’d be dropping my dog off around that time, and picking that exact time to go get food. Here’s where the communication problems started, the last thing Anna said to me is about her having food to pick up. I assumed she’d tell me when she was back, but in the meantime my dog and I had been waiting outside her house. She text me about 15 mins later with an attitude saying “I thought you said you were 13 minutes away”. So I had to inform her that we had been waiting the whole time, however she did not communicate to me that she was at home or waiting the last text I got was about her food. She then apologized as she did admit she should’ve communicated better. I did appreciate her apologize but informed her communication is very important to me, and to please feel free to let me know if she had anything come up. Fast forward to the first update I got on my dog, he seemed anxious as the other 2 dogs she was siting were bigger than him. My dog did seem to try to acclimate to the other dogs, however he kept running to Anna as that’s a sign of him being anxious and in the video she just kept telling him “you’re okay” vs maybe moving him somewhere more private. I could sense my dogs anxiety, but tried to make the best of it by giving positive feedback as my dog seemed to really try to push through & play with the others despite signs of anxiety. Fast forward to the next morning I decided to text Anna to check on my dog, as I did click the box to get updates when I booked. Anna didn’t tell me beforehand how many times she updated or any certain processes. I gave Anna about 3 hours to respond, but when she didn’t I got worried as I didn’t receive any communication about my dog. I contacted rover support, simply because it doesn’t take anything to send a quick text maybe saying “hey I’m just right now but will update you when I get a chance”. After I contacted rover support, they got in touch with her & immediately she updated me. I was relieved, but she was also unprofessional about it as she got snippy and implied that I contacted rover support because she didn’t reply to one text, when really that’s not what happened I consecrated them because she hadn’t said anything in the hours I gave her to respond. She asked me how frequently I was wanting her to respond, and that she typically sends updates at the same time as she gives updates for her other pups. Again she didn’t communicate that with me at all beforehand. I told her only 1 or 2 updates would suffice however she still seemed mad. I wasn’t asking for a million updates, I just wanted upfront communication and honesty, again I gave her hours to respond not like ones bugging every minute, or second. I didn’t respond to her because I could see she was getting more upset, and with my dog in her care I didn’t want to do anything that could jeopardize his safety. About 6 hours later she updates me by sending a video of my dog and in the video my dogs is behind gates with multiple other dogs with different temperaments and I immediately notice around both of my dogs eyes he has red & irritation over them. I became alarmed because he’s NEVER had that ever and because it had only been a day & his appearance had changed that vastly. I was out of state, but felt my dog was no longer safe in her care. It was around 10:00 but I informed Anna a friend of mine (her name as well so she wouldn’t think a random person is trying to get my dog. I also informed her why and however she stated she was “unavailable” even though she was home. I informed her that my dog would need to be given to my friend due to safety concerns & although I don’t want too I would call police if need be. Anna didn’t open the door for my friend, and I did in fact have to call police who physically gave my dog to my friend. However Anna since she was mad about it, she kept my dogs gold leash that had jewels on them, and my dogs 2 gray eating & drinking bowls. She instead brought my dog out with the wrong leash & didn’t return his leash or bowls. Upon my dog arriving to my dads, he was extremely thirsty and not acting like himself. My dad stated my dog seemed depressed, which isn’t like him at all! After her being argumentative, non communicative at times, trying to withhold my dog, and keeping my dogs items, I would NOT recommend Anna! Please either board your pets at a licensed boarding facility where things like this can’t happen nor would be acceptable. Rover is aware and police report for my dogs stolen items has been made. I thought I could trust her based off of reviews, but now I truly believe as an African American woman she may have been prejudiced given her treatment. She most likely wasn’t giving my dog water as he was extremely thirsty. Please beware

Anna gave us the best experience as first time rover user's. She not only took the best care of our two fur babies but gave us updates and sent us pictures while we were away. Our dogs were taken care of and treated as her own!
