Hi! My name is Anna-Mae. I'm a born and raised Cape Cod native, and I’ve had a passion for animals all of my life. I grew up with a couple dogs, many cats, rabbits, & guinea pigs and always played an active role in their care. I also have experience regularly working with horses which has provided me meaningful lessons on empathy between humans and animals, keeping a level and calm emotional state when working with animals, and also the subtle art of body language that so many animals rely on. I have six years experience caring for dogs, cats, and horses while their owners are away / unable. (references available upon request) It is an honor that a close friend of mine and prominent equine therapist always enlists me to care for and watch over her dogs and horses when she is away. I have had additional training with her and her horses that has benefitted my work with all animals. I have received repeated feedback for how my grounded demeanor and innate sensitivity to the animals assures not only the animals, but the owners too. One of my dogs growing up, a bullmastiff/boxer mix (and who knows what else, bless his heart) rescue, suffered from abuse prior to our adoption. As a result he lived with severe fear aggression, lashing out on any person or dog other than our immediate household family. I took pride in training Dillon, our dog, how to walk obediently on the leash alongside me. I'm grateful for his time in my life as he helped me develop the confidence and knowledge to deal with animals that might suffer from anxiety. -I am comfortable with dogs of any size. -Experience volunteering with puppies at local animal shelter -Experience with senior dogs & always grateful to be a part of their care in their golden years <3
