Pet care experience
My family has owned at least one dog and cat my whole life, and I’ve been an active part of caring for those pets from a young age. Back home we currently have one certified Therapy Dog and one in training, both of whom I’ve been actively training since the day we brought them home. Throughout my undergrad years of college I pet sat, walked, and helped train multiple dogs of friends in the area, beginning in puppyhood and through adulthood. A large portion of my experience is with Golden Retrievers and other dogs of similar temperaments (Labradors, Golden Doodles, etc.) but I have worked with dogs of many different breeds, temperaments, and training levels.
Reviews
Always amazing, great sitter. Hope we can book her again the next time we go out of town.
Anna took care of our cat Jasper a few times now and I have total confidence in her. She has been super adaptable and Jasper has always been well taken care of. Thanks Anna! :)
Anna was great! Will definitely use her again!
Anna is AMAZING - Professional, communicative, and really cared for our animals while we were away. She sent us daily photos and messages after her visits and was really wonderful about flexibility when I made a mistake with the dates. 100% will be booking with Anna again.

Safety, trust & environment
In regards to caring for and interacting with dogs, my philosophy is to emulate their owner’s commands and conversation styles as best I can. I’m willing to put in the time and effort to learn and practice how you would like me to communicate with your pets. If your dog is young and/or in training, I’d love to help out with practicing whatever commands you’re currently focused on. Other than the concrete stuff like training and commands, I also will put significant effort into the emotional well-being of your pet while they’re in my care - after all, the happier and more comfortable your pets are, the easier my job becomes! I don’t believe my job is to just keep a food and water dish full while caring for a client’s pet; I’m there to ensure the animal(s) is as content and unaware of their owner’s absence as possible!
Information Anna M. would like to know about your pet
I’d love to know ahead of time if your dog has any unexpected triggers/fears (scared of cars, other animals, etc.) so I can care for the dog most effectively. I’d also be willing and eager to learn your training style and work on training and commands with your dog, if this is something you’d like (some owners/trainers prefer to maintain a sole “master” dynamic, and that is totally understandable).
A typical day
I love walks, but especially mentally-engaging walks! Walking is a great time to work on commands and general disciplines (loose leash walking, not jumping, etc.). For an especially high-energy dog, fetch with a ball or frisbee in a fenced-in or private area is a great activity.

Availability
I work in arts nonprofit events on a hybrid schedule, with full flexibility in my schedule as long as it’s not an event day (and even then, if I have a booking my workplace is very accommodating if I need to leave for a bit to visit a client). I would love to build up a regular schedule of dogs to walk!
