Pet care experience

Hello all! I am an avid animal lover with one rescue dog of my own. I have over 20 years experience caring for cats, rabbits and other small animals, even though I just discovered my true love for dogs about 3 years ago! I have experience with positive reinforcement training techniques, and it is these principles that will shape my interaction with YOUR dog. I am trustworthy, reliable, and compassionate, and I will care for your animals as if they were my own. The health and safety of your furry family members is of paramount importance to me and you can rest assured they will be exposed to responsible handling while in my care. I am a conscientious and well-educated dog owner, and I will use my understanding of animal beavior to provide the best possible experience for you and your pet.

Information Anna L. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed or size restrictions, however I ask that owners be straightforward about any behavioral issues the dog might have (i.e. reactivity to other dogs, bite history, compulsion to chase squirrels, fear of children, etc...) so I can adjust our activity accordingly. It would be helpful for me to know if your dog has had any obedience training and what commands they are familiar with and respond to. It is also important for me to know if the dog has any food allergies or specific health problems.

A typical day

While in my care, your dog will enjoy a walk in the comfort of their own neighborhood, or on a local trail in close proximity. (Trails I frequent with my own dog that are a possibility include the Blackstone River Bike Path, Diamond Hill State Park, Lincoln Woods State Park, the Cumberland Monastery, Stillwater Trail, and Wolf Hill Forest Preserve.) Home visits can include backyard games or training games, whatever makes your pup (and you!) happy. I am available rain or shine, or even snow, as long as I can still make the commute to your house; I understand that dogs still need their exercise in inclement weather! Safe and appropriate behavior will be encouraged and cultivated at all times. I have successfully trained my own rescue dog, who is now a Canine Good Citizen, using primarily positive reinforcement techniques and will apply those same strategies in my work with your dog as well.
