My preference is smaller dogs (I live in an apartment) who don’t bark much (for the neighbors). Helpful to know how your dog reacts to other dogs on leashes during walks since there are a good number of them always walking around my neighborhood.

Totally depends on the dog! The Museum District is so nice to walk around and I usually follow the dog’s lead on if they’d rather sniff around or walk. I’ll put dogs on my long lead and let them chill on the porch with me. If they’re high energy and socialized I’ll take them to the dog park (with owner permission). And if the dog is very social I will sometimes bring them to my fitness classes with me to make new friends.
