Pet care experience
I have been pet, house, and farm sitting consistently for over 15 years. Though I am new to Rover, I can provide a long list of references, many of which are long standing clients. I have two equine degrees, extensive experience assisting large animal vets, experience with dogs, cats, reptiles, saltwater and freshwater fish, goats, horses, cattle, and even exotic pets like Servals, Parrots, and exotic reptiles. I am comfortable with aggressive and nervous pets and know how and when to use most training aids with confidence (collars, easy leads, crates, treats, clickers, etc.). I am flexible, reliable, and transparent. I have owned many of the animals listed above and I am happy to house sit as well. While my pricing on here only displays a flat rate, I understand people have multiple pets and each one is unique. If you have pricing concerns, message me. For booking, I will always ask you a number of follow-up questions, I will have you leave me detailed instructions, and I will arrange a time for us to speak on the phone prior to adding you to my calendar. My primary goal is to make it feel like you never left.
Reviews
Anna is a former employee in my office and we worked together for over 3 years. She is very reliable, extremely conscientious and super friendly! She would love your pet as her own and over the course of our working relationship proved she would go above and beyond for the health and welfare of her own pet, as well as others she cared for during that time. She is also an equestrian and has tons of experience with horses. You can't go wrong allowing Anna to help take care of your pets!
I have seen Anna in action with not only her dog, but with mine; and I have to say, she is one of the most loving and compassionate people that I have ever met. She truly has a heart for all animals! Your mind and heart can be at ease knowing that she is providing the best care for your special fur babies.

Safety, trust & environment
For pets being taken care of in the client's home or barn, I will follow their normal schedule to the very best of my availability. For example, if livestock is fed and stall are typically cleaned at 7am, I will book it with the understanding that that is their normal feeding time. If I am dog sitting for you, and your dog typically goes out to potty around 6:30/7am, 4pm, 8, and again around 10, I will accommodate those times. If I am house sitting, I will usually drop by at my convenience, but will text you if you do not have a home security system in place so that you know I have been by. I share my personal phone number and I am easy to text/call. If there are any concerns I always call.
Information Anna J. would like to know about your pet
Some things I will ask pet parents outside of their feeding and potty schedule, is what a typical day looks like for your pet. Are they active, friendly, nervous? Do they like to be pet/touched, do they enjoy other animals, do they have any special needs or concerns? Have they had any changes in home/diet/schedule recently? If they do walk, can they walk on a leash well and what do you typically use? How long are they comfortable going? Will I be administering any medications, bandages, treatments? I will also ask you to leave in your home all instructions and emergency contacts and if anything at all comes up, I will always call.
A typical day
If I am pet sitting, we will typically spend some quality time together at home during most visits, and go on one walk per day. Where we go (park/trails/neighborhood) is based on what you are comfortable with, how many dogs you have, and their age/activity level. Some pets I come let out to go potty and we cuddle or play for a bit each visit, others I will take on a hike on trails near by or out to the park. For cats, reptiles, and other animals less active I will be sure their needs are met as requested. If there are certain treats or activities these pets especially enjoy I will do my best to accommodate those needs.

Availability
I am self employed. There are weeks I travel and busier days than others, but I have the privilege to set my own schedule. With advanced notice, I can usually work around pet sitting dates needed. I will be open and honest with you about my times of availability and when I plan to arrive, leave, and how long I will stay.
