Pet care experience
I grew up caring for Labradors and serving as the de facto neighborhood pet sitter. Until just a few years ago, I had a senior rescue Pointer with whom I was able to roust out rabbits, skunks and even a turkey, from a neighborhood I thought was pretty domesticated. I also have a long track record with special needs animals - I've lived with a senior cat that I gave daily insulin shots to, and currently have a three-legged cat (for whom I hand make toys). As a university professor in the fine arts, I divide my time between the midwest and New York. Travel makes it hard to negotiate having my own dog, and my current building does not allows dogs, sadly. For you and your doggo, this adds up to a very flexible summer schedule, and someone itching to take your dog out, whether they need a good gallop or a companionable mosey. I love an underdog, and I've got a real soft spot for Pits, Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds and any other rescues.
Reviews
Anna is kind, responsible, and awesome human who loves furry creatures with 2, 3, or 4 legs. They have a cat named Easel (3 legs!) who is a happy camper due to Anna's love. A tenured Art professor by day, Anna has cared for many dogs in the 20 years of our friendship, always being very attentive to their personalities and basic needs. LGBTQ+ friendly, clever, and best suited to be a little covered in dog hair, Anna has had dogs of her own, taken care of the pups of long-term roommates, and is a trusted, caring person.

Information Anna C. would like to know about your pet
Is a dog park in the cards or does your pup prefer solo attention? What kind of instruction/ reward system do you use (any special commands or sign language, treats, etc.)?
A typical day
For nature smells, Union, Washington and Madison Square Parks are classic green spaces. For culture, we can promenade in the LES and Chelsea gallery districts. If we're staying in, I promote a platform of fetch, responsible roughhousing, scratches, pets, and brushing, in whatever proportion best fits your doggo.
