My experience with caring for animals began when I was 8. My family adopted our first dog, Samson, and I primarily potty-trained, obedience-trained, fed, bathed, and walked him, as I had busy parents! I also grew up with a semi-feral outdoor cat, who was a very independent creature, but even she liked to come sit near me quietly. I am very good at introducing myself and building trust with even the shyest cats and dogs, and I have never met an animal I couldn't put at ease! During college, I realized how much I missed having animals in my life, and signed up to foster with my local humane society. I raised 2 kittens from the time they were less than a pound until they were ready to be adopted. This included helping them get acquainted with the litter box, mixing kitten formula, weighing them, getting them used to getting their nails trimmed, and watching for medical conditions. As they got older, I got do do the more fun bits: playing, cuddling, giving them lots of treats, and treating them to toys! I would love to put my skills and love for animals to good use for you and your pet! I am fully vaccinated. I have experience with an escape-prone dog and understand how stressful it can be! Depending on your home, I can leash dogs before opening doors, and am more than happy to uncrate and crate them before I leave. Let me know of any special circumstances, like allergies, habits, and things to keep your animal comfortable. I am happy to learn what commands your dog knows to better be able to stay safe with them out on a walk, what toys make your kitties feel safe, and any other things you may want me to know to best take care of your furry friend.
