Pet care experience
I bring a lifetime of dog care experience to your “furmily” members. I’ve trained 2 reactive dogs through a kind and hands free approach and I’m proud to say they’re both thriving in their current homes. I have experience gently administering medicine, including ear medicine. I love learning about dog body language and helping dogs feel more secure about themselves while exploring the world. In addition to my abundance of dog care, I have experience taking care of cats, chickens and pigs. I’d be honored to take care of your animals and to emphasize training on walks/in the home. If you want your animal to interact with another pup, my 3 year old dog is a great walk/play companion.
Reviews
Ann was such a fantastic sitter for our fur baby and our flock of backyard ducks! She was willing to step in last minute and we felt totally confident leaving our animals in her care and we weren’t disappointed. She’s kind and communicative and our animals were all very happy. We’re so glad to have found her and will definitely use her again!
Ann was such a great sitter! I needed someone last minute to watch my dog for the day and Ann was the perfect person for the job. She was very flexible, communicative, and sent me updates (with pictures!) throughout the day. I felt so comfortable with Ann watching Maeve—Maeve was definitely tired after her multiple walks and frisbee time, and Ann even practiced some of her leash training skills with Maeve. I’d 10000% book Ann again and recommend her to anyone!
Ann has watched my pup on many occasions and she is by far my favorite pup sitter ever! She is so kind and patient with my high anxiety older dog. She is also really good at giving me regular updates on how my dog is doing when I leave my fur babe in her hands. Ann is just the best!
Ann is amazing. It’s silly to write more because that covers it. But she is responsible and kind and so in love with all things four-legged. The only downside is that your furry friend could end up loving her more than you. She kept my stubborn hound with her for us during a short trip and he fell madly in love. If her full time job could be rubbing velvety ears, noone would leave that situation unhappy. Noone I would trust my magical puppers with more, hands down.

In my home: your dog will have free range of our two-level apartment. We have lots of comfy furniture and rugs for your dog to feel comfortable. We live next to a park and are a short walk to Lincoln and Washington Park. My dog will accompany your dog on walks, assuming that works for your pup. We have plenty of space to separate between feedings if your dog has food reactivity issues. Your dog would never be left alone in my home unless we’ve built an ongoing relationship & I trust your dog to be left alone. If your dog does well in the car and on hikes, I’d love to bring them along our nature adventures. In your home: very similar to my home except, I may leave your dog in your home alone, assuming they don’t have separation anxiety. I am a highly organized person and value keeping my working space clean so I will leave your space in at least the same condition as I found it.

Information Ann S. would like to know about your pet
Is your animal reactive to any specific population (children, men, people with sunglasses) Is your animal reactive towards other animals (dogs, cats, squirrels, rabbits) Is your animal sensitive to noise? Does your animal have history of health issues (any previous injuries, allergies) Are your training your dog in a specific way that you’d like me to mimic? Do they have separation anxiety, general anxiety and are they okay with new people walking into their home (when I come in to let them out, will they bark excessively?) If you feel like sharing a funny quirk/trait that you love about your animal, please do!
A typical day
I love to take dogs on hikes in the Catskills, ADK, or a more local urban hike. I enjoy preparing special treats such as kongs/lick mats. I know how important rest is for dogs, especially the closer they are to the beginning or end of life. I will ensure safe and cozy rest time.

My daily routine revolves around pet care. If I agree to take care of your animal, that will be my main priority that day. For better or worse, it’s what I’m used to, having cared so deeply for dogs my whole life.
