Ann's Capitol Hill Bed & Bichon
Pet care experience
I have adopted, fostered or owned poodles and bichons for years. I am a Civil Service retiree and live in a row house on Capitol Hill. I enjoy providing a safe, caring environment for well-behaved, small or medium-sized dogs in my home so that their owners can enjoy a worry-free vacation. There are generally two mealtimes per day, and we enjoy three walks a day in our dog-friendly neighborhood. I have taken dog obedience classes through the Washington Animal Rescue League, now part of the Rescue Alliance, and I have experience administering pills, and applying ointments or flea and tick preventives. My Bichon Frise, Talcum, is slowing down a bit but is enjoying his new roommate, Princess. I donate 5% percent of my earnings to Bichon Frise rescue.
Reviews
Thanks Ann: Amazing as always!
Thank you for watching Louis for us! Such a huge help and we didn’t have to worry about a thing!
Ann took such good care of our Flossie, especially considering that it was Flossie's first stay in a home away from us! We appreciate her attentiveness to Flossie's needs.
Ann is wonderful! My pup had a wonderful stay and enjoyed co-housing with Ann's pups.

I have a fenced in back yard, although there is really no grass back there. My dogs likes to be crated when I leave home, and there is an extra crate here. Well-behaved, housebroken dogs are welcome to hang out in my dining room when I go out. When I am home, my dogs and I can make room for our guests on the furniture or they can hang out on a dog bed or mat. I like for doggie clients to bring a harness so that I can be sure they are secure on walks.

Information Ann M. would like to know about your pet
Let me know of any preferences or needs you dog has. You are welcome to send along a bed, toy or something that smells like home.
A typical day
We take walks and there is plenty of grass to sniff near Stuart Hobson school or at Stanton Park. I prefer not to run dog guests run off leash. Occasionally, I will invite doggie guests on a car ride to the pet store or a park.

Availability
I'm retired, and leave home to run errands, spend time with friends or perform volunteer work, so I have plenty of time to spend with my doggie guests. My day starts around 7am with walking my dogs and our guests, followed by breakfast. We walk again about 6-8 hours later. Doggie dinner is generally 5:30, and there is another walk before bedtime.
