I have grown up with dogs in my household. They have ranged from big and small, and I have seen them through their tribulations of old age and health problems. Needless to say, I have learned since the early part of my life. While I was home in Texas two summers ago, I worked at a boarding kennel as a dog walker and run cleaner. It was physically demanding, but made me more confident while handling bigger and more energetic dogs. At college, I have worked for another dog walking service while also training and loving my own dog (a Service Dog in Training). I have found that the opportunity to engage with dogs not only helps keep me going, but provides other owners with the needed sense of care and contentment of their own fur babies.
