Loving Care When You're Not There

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Angie, and I mean it when I say dogs are my life. I have a degree in social work with a concentration in the human-animal bond and fully understand the love that is shared between dogs and their owners. I became a dog mom 35 years ago and now have a nine year old yellow lab and a three year old pit/lab mix named Parker and ZoSo. I have cradled my dogs as puppies and held them in my arms as they passed as seniors, which is the most precious time in their lives, as well as the hardest on us owners. It’s important for me to care for dogs at all points in their lives, not just the easiest. I also donate food and supplies to local shelters as well as various animal organizations. I have first aid knowledge, know CPR and I have saved my pup from choking after eating too quickly. It turns out that maze bowls do wonders for dogs who have this problem, and I’ve now implemented that bowl into his feeding routine to avoid any further issues. Pet care is my only job, which means I have an open and flexible schedule dedicated to you! Though Parker and ZoSo are sweeties, they play hard and rough; therefore, I am not able to board. Also, I’ve had to cut overnight sitting from my services, as my husband is often out of town, but I do plenty of drop ins, and I’m always available for walks. I know plenty local walking areas and always make certain to keep the trails varied so your dog gets a new adventure with different smells every time. And with your permission, I’ll even bring a few healthy treats! In summary, I am dependable, responsible, and trustworthy and will keep you updated on your dog’s status so you can rest easy knowing he is receiving amazing care.

Angie always does a great job with our animals. Our new puppy loves her too, no surprise. Always willing to hire Angie if she’s available. She’s the best.

Angie was thoughtful to send updates and photos. She knew how to work with my dog to coax him outside.

Angie was wonderful. She worked patiently and skillfully with my weird, stubborn dog (I love him even though he is quirky).

A typical day

A typical day would start with me getting to know your dog slowly and calmly to earn his trust. After that happens, the day will include a healthy blend of play, walking, healthy meals, sleep and anything else you suggest in order to give your dog the best day ever! When your dog goes on a walk with me, he/she will be guarded and protected from all possible situations that might cause harm. I will always have a firm grip, especially if your pet is one who tends to pull. I'm always aware of what a pet is sniffing and watching to make sure he/she doesn't eat or chew something found on the ground. In the heat, they'll always get the shadiest walk and breaks in the shade with a drink of water, if necessary. On the fun side, I like to change up the route to keep walks interesting. New smells, sights, and sounds break up the monotony of the same path everyday. Inside the home, Parker, ZoSo, and I like to dance and sing. Believe it or not, there are two songs that Parker will respond to even when he's sleeping, and he'll come running over happy and begging me to dance with him. Other than that, we love to play tug-o-war, fetch, hide and seek with treats, and just a ton of silly games. I'm sure your dogs have their favorites too, and I can't wait to learn what they are! In addition to caring for your dogs, I am happy to perform the following tasks: Provide care for birds, fish, and various small furry animals Water and care for plants Take in mail and delivered packages Take out all trash accumulated during stay Pick up any necessary pet supplies
