Pet care experience
I have loved dogs my whole life. I've had a Cairn Terrier for the last 6 years and he is my buddy. I love and care for him like the family member that he is. I had an elderly Chihuahua I fostered (and eventually adopted) during the pandemic and I cared for him extensively for a year until it was time for him to pass on. I also work as a caretaker at a shelter a few days a week where I am responsible for feeding, walking, giving meds and affection to several dogs. For many years, friends and neighbors have relied on me to watch their dogs while they are out of town, knowing I always treat them like a member of my own family. I would love to give your pup a break during the day, giving them a walk and a little snuggle time, and you can rest assured they will be well cared for while I'm there.

I will take great care to make sure your pet doesn't escape upon entering and leaving your home, same as I do with my dog when I leave my home. I will make sure they are on leash before we head out for our walk and I will be sure to avoid other dogs on our walks. I will clean up after your dog and give plenty of positive affirmation (and hopefully treats =) when we are done. I will be sure to lock up your home when I am done with the visit, and leave everything as I found it.

I trust that you as the owner will let me know what activities your dog does and doesn't like to engage in. I will take it slow with your dog at first as I get to know their temperament and energy level. I will try not to pull forward or back on our walks as I like to let the dog do their thing, however their safety and mine is the #1 priority so I will use my judgement to make sure we are both safe and comfortable on our walks.
A typical day
I will rely on the owner to let me know where they want their dog walked and how they want them played with, but typically I take my dog around the block of our house. I try to find shade as much as possible and we cross the street when we see dogs coming our way just to avoid any possible problems. I like to let Link sniff as much as he wants and if there's a spot he desperately wants to go to, we go there unless I need him to follow a certain path or we need to head home. Link isn't too interested in toys or fetch so I welcome the chance to engage with your dog in that way if they are interested!

My typical line of work is in the entertainment industry, which is not a consistent schedule year-round. Right now I am in between projects and so my days have opened up, allowing me to work in my other passion of pet care.
