A Staycation for Cats

Pet care experience

Since a very young age, I have cared for cats and kittens. This includes cats who are quite affectionate and live indoors to those who are feral. Like humans, I understand that cats have different personalities from each other as well as different needs. In regards to kittens, I have not had to do not have experience with advanced care such as feeding bottle babies, but I am very well aware of their stages of development, socialization with their mother and each other, and overall health and welfare. I can assure you that I can properly tend to kittens that have been weened and sufficiently litter trained. I do have experience with giving cats oral medication, caring for senior cats, and providing exercise to high-energy cats. Also, as part from my undergraduate work, I cared for the animals at the science building at Towson University. I had learned of basic care for small animals such as mice, rats, and gerbils, as well as box turtles, red-eared spiders, ball pythons and corn snakes. I have personal experience with caring for bettas and African dwarf frogs, too. PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT PROVIDE SERVICES FOR DOGS, AS I LACK PROPER EXPERIENCE TO WORK WITH THEM. ROVER CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A METHOD FOR ME TO REMOVE ANY DOG-RELATED QUESTIONS OR FIELDS FROM MY PROFILE AT THIS TIME.

Angela took great care of our two cats, our house, communicated well, and was very responsive. It’s great to know that this service is available and staffed with someone as capable and reliable as Angela.

Angela was great! She gave us daily updates about our cats, pictures were included too. Having the daily updates was great and gave us peace of mind. I would definitely recommend.

If you need a cat-sitter, I highly recommend Angela! She did a wonderful job for us while we were on vacation. After the initial meet and greet with her, we were very confident our sweet girl would be well cared for while we were gone and we were right! We received daily "report cards" detailing Angela's time at our home and letting us know how the little one was doing. Angela also sent numerous photos each day ensuring us all was well. I also want to say the Rover.com process and site was easy to use - from the initial search for the perfect pet care provider (Angela!), the scheduling and payment options, and on-going follow-up, all went smoothly. Being able to work through the site, and knowing support was available, gave us yet another layer of confidence that all would go well while we were away. Hoping Angela will be available to cat-sit for us during our next trip!

Safety, trust & environment

I will make certain to follow the instructions that I am provided, as well as to receive the information of relevant veterinary services and known health concerns. And as you do with caring for any pet, you take time to make certain hazards remain out of reach. In addition to safety, I will maintain communication with my clients as the care of their pets (and their homes) is a concern. Also, considering the current times, I can assure you that I have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus and will provide you the supporting documentation. I also take other precautions, such as wearing masks by request, to prevent the spread of the virus. I also have an insurance policy through Pet Care Insurance, as accidents can happen. I have received certifications through Allegany College of Maryland with Dr. Jeffrey Grognet's "Starting a Pet Sitting Business" course and Pet Emergency Academy's "Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid" course.

Information Angela P. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know how your cat is around strangers: I understand that some cats are particularly skittish around those who they don't know. I would like to know this as I know that cats who are typically open all people sometimes hide when they develop a health concern. Also, if your cat regularly hides from strangers, I would like to know of their usual hiding places so that I peek in and see how they are doing after to tend to their other needs.

A typical day

When caring for cats, what I tend to do first is feed them and take care of their water. I'll go about cleaning their dishes before giving them meals. If the cat desires company, I stay with them as they eat. After that, I take care of scooping the litter box. I sweep the area after that so no one tracks any litter around the house. Throughout the day, I spend time talking to the cat, playing with them with their toys, petting them, and so forth. This amount of activity can vary depending upon the personality of the cat. I repeat the routine of feeding, watering, and cleaning the litter box in the evening.

Availability

If you desire, I would be available for overnight visits as I currently do not have other responsibilities that would prevent this. Outside of unusual circumstances, my availability is generally open for the entire week. I might be absent for some time throughout the day due to appointments and tending to other needs of mine, but if your pet's routine follows a certain schedule, I can make adjustments to mine.
