Inclusive in home daycare and board

Pet care experience

Five years ago we brought a yellow lab home that really made us rethink pet care. Even though he was properly socialized and went through puppy training, he could not adjust to doggie daycare. Through his experience, we learned that doggie daycare in large environments is not right for every dog. My husband and I traveled International for work and the stress of finding someone to watch my medically and behavioral challenged dog was beyond stressful. I was lucky enough to find an incredible woman that provides both in home doggie daycare and overnight boarding for a small amount of dogs. He thrived and it was a stress free environment for him. I have been boarding my dogs with her for years and still do. What I realized in this journey is that not many people are able to offer a more inclusive environment for the dogs that need it. I also know first hand how nerve wracking the process is to find someone you love and trust with your furry. I don’t know what I would have done had I not found the in-home boarding option that I did. She has become a second mother to my dogs. That is what I want to offer to you. I am home full time and we have a good sized fenced in yard. I am passionate about animals and that is why I am also a foster for Golden Bond Rescue. I currently have openings for drop-in (Monday- Friday) in home daycare for a dogs that are well socialized, potty trained and have basic obedience skills. My philosophy is that it’s more about the right fit, than getting another dog into my home. Because my focus is on providing a fear free and low stress environment, my objective is to put the dogs needs first. At this time I am not able to take any dogs that have resource guarding issues, mounting issues or separation issues. I am also not able to take dogs that are known to dig in the yard or have a history of jumping a 6’ fence. I require your dog to be spayed/neutered (puppies up to seven months are an exception but females must not be in heat), up to date on vaccines and flea medication, and provide current veterinarian vaccine records. I am also offering in home boarding. I offer short term and long term up to two weeks. I do have a minimum of a two night stay and a maximum of an 8 night stay. The same disclaimer above applies to the types of dogs that I am willing to have in my home. Again, my philosophy is about making this an environment that does not overwhelm my pets or yours. Both situations will require your dog to come crate trained (I provide crates and will ensure that your pets will have a dedicated safe space while they are in my home). Not because they will be spending a lot of time in it but occasionally, if things get too wild, I use them for time outs and if needed, for feeding. I also will occasionally have a short errand to run and crate all my dogs while I am gone. I do require a meet and greet for a minimum of 30 minutes, at least one week before the stay. I want to ensure that this is as much of a right for for you and your dog as it is for us. I will not take more than two dogs at a time for overnight boarding to keep it a calm environment for everyone. In the event of a scheduling conflict, I will ask permission from both parties.

Angie is wonderful with animals. Her dogs and cat are well loved. She fostered our newest Golden Retriever Holly, who blossomed under Angie’s care. She helped Holly gain confidence and trust and learn to enjoy her new golden life. I would whole-heartedly trust my dogs in Angie’s care.

Angie has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to dog behavior. She has been watching our 3 month old for a few weeks now. Angie helps with the training during the day since we are unable to. She treats our pup as if it were her own. I have the utmost confidence that our little girl will be well taken care of every time we drop her off. We're so lucky to have somebody as caring as Angie to help raise our puppy.

I am a current volunteer and approved foster home for Golden Bond of Oregon. As of date I have fostered five dogs for them and I also volunteer to do home visits to screen potential families that are interested in fostering. I have five years of dog training experience though my own dogs. I have taken them through multiple levels of training with Wonder Puppy. I have also worked with a trainer at Sniff and City Dog Country Dog. I am also currently doing Dock Diving with my lab and we are working one on one with a trainer for the sport. While I am NOT a dog trainer, I have five years of experience working with top trainers in the area for my dogs and have had the support of the trainers with Golden Bond Rescue to help with some of the tougher foster cases. I focus on positive reinforcement and providing a home environment for dogs. I am happy to provide reference’s from my vet, GBR, my trainer at Wonder Puppy and past/current clients.
