Hello, I'm Angela (she/hers)! I am excited to have the honor of caring for your pet and meeting their needs. I'll be sure to provide you with updates and photos of your pets so you are confident they are happy and comfortable. I used to help take care of the family dog (since around age 11) and walk others. I can quickly identify a dog's quirks, and I am well-versed in dog psychology and behaviors. For example, I know how to deal with a dog that keeps trying to leap up on people. I am disciplined with keeping the dog safely leashed while walking but also give the dog space to sniff and feel comfortable. I also learn very quickly and can adapt to any pet's needs, whether that's a cat or dog or something else.

I take careful note of a pet's behavior and observe them. I keep a close eye on them around the clock. As a former dog owner, I am familiar with dog needs and love giving them space, agency, and playfulness. I also love cats and particularly respect their space too. I know how to regularly feed, walk, and play with the pet and follow instructions well. You can count on me to provide updates and follow ups if I notice anything unusual (and regular followups even when things are normal).

I like to know the dog's general personality such as whether they are friendly around strangers or need some time to warm up. You know best what your pet is like! Whether the dog likes people or other dogs (especially while on walks) is important as well as how much exercise the dog prefers. I would like to know any fears or dislikes that the dog has. If the dog needs extra care or attention I would also need to know since I am not medically trained, but I can do basic caregiving like checking for any scabs or scratch marks or cleaning their ears or putting simple eye drops.
A typical day
I feed and take care of your dogs. I play with them indoors if they like chewing toys, balls, or stuffed animals. I also can play games that involve treats and brief instruction. When going on walks, I like to find areas with plants so dogs can sniff, discover the outside world, and do their markings. I let the dogs follow their intuition on where to go but know how to pull the reins if needed.

Availability
My schedule is currently very flexible and open. If I have occasional work, it will mostly be online and I can easily take care of that while petsitting. I am happy to discuss your needs and work with you. Most weekdays and weekends work well. Please note that I don't have a car and so would love your house to be in a place accessible to public transit.
