Hi! My name is Angie, I'm currently living in Long Island City where I walk and board dogs and care for cats on a daily basis. I have been walking independently for about two years. I’ve lived with dogs my entire life. I grew up in Peru where my family rescued street dogs and raised Rottweilers. I currently share my life with two senior Pomeranians. Before walking independently, I was a dog walker with NYC Pet Nanny, a highly respected dog walking service in Astoria from 2019 to 2020. I care for pups a of all breeds, ages and sizes, with different temperaments and medical conditions. I have come into homes multiple times a day to help potty train puppies. I've worked with many pups with health issues and have experience administering medication. My own pup Melo receives multiple meds a day. One of my clients included a chihuahua named Izzy who was prone to seizures. I was responsible for ensuring Izzy’s safety as he went through his seizures and giving him lots of love afterwards. I also love working with senior dogs and can offer the one on one care they require if unable to walk in a pack. I work well with reactive dogs and can accommodate any of your reactive pups needs! Not every dog can walk in a pack and that's ok! I'm flexible with the needs of each animal and can offer special packages that cater to those needs. I have been entrusted with staying in the homes of many clients to care for pups and have also had many of my regulars stay with me in my home for extended periods. If you are looking to have your pup board in their neighborhood so they can continue to walk their regular routes and visit the parks they normally do, then my home would be a good fit! I also have a lot of experience working with cats. I care for cats pretty much everyday and not only offer meals and a clean litter box but playtime as well. I am well versed working with aging cats with medical needs. I cared for a 23 year old cat, Satchmo, who had a stroke and lost the ability to see and to walk with his hind legs. I was responsible for coming in twice a day to help Satchmo eat, walk, and use the bathroom. Sadly Satchmo eventually crossed the rainbow cat bridge but I was honored to be able to make his last few months a little more comfortable. I maintained the relationship with his parents and routinely care for his brother and the new cat additions to the family. I am 29, responsible, timely, empathetic, patient, caring, and have over 14 years of experience working with animals. I am a fluent Spanish speaker. I also offer reduced costs for families who need animal care and can show proof of SNAP benefits or Medicaid. All families of all income backgrounds deserve quality animal care.
