I am licensed and insured! I've cared for pets of all kinds from the time I was 8 years old. That was when I first started walking the neighbor's dog, a boxer, for pay. From that time, I have cared for animals large and small, both in my home and in the homes of others. I am a former animal caretaker at Puget Sound Wildcare, where I fed, cleaned around, and provided medications to wild animals, both mammalian and avian. I have an advanced degree in biology and was formerly on the board of directors for the non-profit organization Fish First. Currently, I am the pet parent of 4 budgerigar parakeets. We said goodbye to our Golden Retriever, Tucker, at the ripe old age of 15 and, more recently, to a our Saint Bernard, Sophie at 11. I also have 5 chickens. In the past, I have owned and cared for hamsters, fish, dogs, cats, birds, and tortoises. Birds are my passion! I can board birds for $15/day. I have cared for horses in a limited capacity and can feed, harness, and move them between locations.

I customize care to fit the needs of your pet. Dogs are integrated into our family routines. Most dogs split their time between indoors with the family, playing in the fenced dog area outside, and going on walks or playing fetch. We have a 140’ x 100’ fenced yard on our 2.5 acres with 80 acres of walking trails at the end of our road, where boarded dogs will receive 1-2 walks per day. For short periods of time as need arises, dogs may also spend time in the secure covered 10' x 8' covered dog kennel with buried fencing wire. My adult sons are often around to provide additional love and playtime to your pup. We are a non-smoking household. Indoors, our HVAC system is equipped with an air scrubber to ensure an extra-clean breathing environment for your pet! I board up to 3 dogs here at one time, so friendliness with other dogs is a must to stay on our mini-farm. All dogs must meet me for a temperament assessment before boarding.

A typical day
Here is a typical schedule for dogs within my care: 8:30 AM: Potty break, 15 minutes of socialization loves and petting, breakfast 9:30 AM: Free time to rest and play with toys. Most dogs follow me around while I do chores. 11:30 AM: 30-minute walk or interactive playtime and 10 minutes of love and petting 12 PM Rest and free time 3:30 PM 20-minute walk or interactive playtime and 10 minutes of love and petting 4 PM Rest and free time 7 PM Potty break, 15 minutes of socialization and interaction, dinner 7:30 PM Indoor rest and family time 9:30 PM Potty break and bedtime. Outdoor dogs will sleep in a crate in our living room. Indoor dogs may sleep on a dog bed or in a crate. Care will be conducted by either me, my adult sons, my 2 adult female tenants, or my husband. We love to give pets and tummy rubs! We like to take walks on the 80 acres at the end of our dead-end road. we can discuss other activities that your dog may enjoy, such as fetch or tug-of-war.

Availability
Pet care is my sole job, apart from caring for my home and family. I am dedicated to providing your pet with the love and attention they deserve! The only time I am regularly away from home is between 11 AM and 4 PM on Saturdays.
