I have always had and loved dogs.
Pet care experience
I am a former property manager for 20 years and have decided to take it down a notch and do something that I really enjoy doing. My Dad had a zoo at our house growing up. We had a beautiful male white German Sheppard named Victor that he would sire out as he was beautiful and smart and loving. We also had a garage full of finches, parakeets, snakes (2) white mice (to feed them) gross, I know, but we also had a spider monkey, an iguana and a guinea pig, so all my friends called our house the zoo. I almost forgot, my Dad's favorite-a macaw parrot. Right now I have a rescued deer head Chihuahua, but her "human dad" works at home and so she won't be alone when I go to sit for other dogs mainly. I have references that I can easily email to you, so if you need someone to spoil your dog ofr you ,while you aren't going to be able to-then I am your dogsitter!

Skills
A typical day
My style with dogs is to first let them come up to me while talking softly to them, without looking straight into their eyes, until I know that they trust me. Then I will hold out my hand and call them over to me and see how they behave and if they seem friendly enough, I will gently either pat their head a little or scratch their neck. Once they trust me I will try calling them by name to me and see how they are while trying to leash them for a walk. Of course all of these things will depend on what the owner tells me about their behavior towards strangers and then leashing for walks and walking habits. Dogs do seem to like me and come up to me in our neighborhood as some around here are not leashed, because we live in the country. But my style is also flexible if necessary.
