Hi! I've always grown up with dogs in my house. Around the age of 14, my family got a puppy and I became one of his main caregivers, as I was of age to take on the responsibility. I would to go puppy class and train him; I was also responsible for feeding and taking him on walks. This was new for me, as we had always had dogs in the house but I had never been the one to take on the responsibilities. Since then, I've had an extensive love for dogs and how they connect and love us humans back. Dogs make us happy so I would love to give my services to make them happy too, with a walk or belly rub. Therefore, I want to be a dog sitter because I believe in the companionship that dogs offer. I believe that they become members of the family and therefore should be treated like any other member; their needs need to be met and I'm here to do that! I'm different from other sitters because I treat each dog to their specific needs. Dogs can be picky like us and sometimes a simple walk won't tire them out and sometimes after a two blocks they're panting. Each dog is unique and deserves to be recognized for that! I'm a recent college graduate with hopes of attending medical school. Aside from enhancing my resume for applications, my schedule is relatively flexible and I'm willing to work with my clients' specifics. A walk or meeting with your dog would consist of any specificity required, extensive love and belly rubbing of course. I'm here to make your dog happy and you satisfied that your loved one is being taken care of properly. I will spend as much time as needed with your dog; if you ask for 30 minutes, the full 30 minutes will be spent with your dog. Routinely in the past, I would enter the home and greet the animals. I would make sure they had enough water and food and that there weren't any accidents that happened while unsupervised. I would then give them a treat, upon the owner's request, and buckle them up for a walk. I would take the dogs on 30 minute walks, letting them do their business, explore, and sniff around. Sometimes, if they seemed more energetic I would jog with them for a little while. My main concern is that they're safe, away from cars and dangerous things; therefore, I prefer to walk in areas that allow the dog to be more relaxed. Overall, I love dogs and want to put my work into dog walking so that I can spread the love and respect I have for the companionship that they offer. Growing up with multiple dogs has allowed me to gain knowledge for big dogs, like German Shephards that I had when I was in elementary school, to small dogs, like terriers that I have currently. I've learned that every dog is different with their own personalities and that is why I love them so much. It would be a dream to be able to give my love to dogs as a job.
