Dogs Are Better Than Humans

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m Angela, and caring for dogs has been a lifelong passion of mine for over 30 years. From energetic puppies to gentle seniors, I’ve had the privilege of working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a longer trip, I offer reliable, compassionate care that lets you travel with peace of mind. I treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. In fact, dogs are treated more like humans than dogs in my home. They’re truly a gift from God and I want to provide a sense of peace for you, knowing your fur-baby is in good hands. I also understand that each dog is unique—and I take the time to earn their trust and keep them comfortable and happy in your absence. Why I Love Dog Sitting: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I believe every dog deserves patience, kindness, and consistency. I love getting to know their personalities and seeing the joy in their tails when they’re relaxed and happy. What I Offer: ~Overnight care & vacation sitting ~Medication administration (oral, topical, injections) ~Senior dog care & puppy support ~Personalized attention based on your dog’s needs & routine My Experience: ✅ 30+ years of hands-on dog care ✅ Comfortable with seniors, puppies, and special needs dogs ✅ Medication admin (oral, topical, injections) ✅ Experience with shy, reactive, and high-energy dogs ✅ Long walks, belly rubs, and lots of love guaranteed If you’re looking for someone with a deep understanding of canine behavior, a calm and gentle presence, and a true love for animals, I’d be honored to care for your dog.

Angela is absolutely amazing with my dog, Cooper! From the moment they met, I could tell she genuinely loves and understands animals. She kept me updated with photos and messages while I was away, which gave me total peace of mind. I came home to a happy, relaxed pup and could tell he was well taken care of. Angela went above and beyond—whether it was sticking to Cooper’s routine, giving him extra snuggles, or making sure he got plenty of playtime. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter.

Safety, trust & environment

With over 30 years of experience, pet safety and comfort are always my top priorities. While caring for your dog in my home, I provide a calm, structured, and loving environment that helps dogs feel secure and at ease. I have an organized, clutter free, smoke free home in a beautiful neighborhood in Collinsville, VA and have included photos for you to see where your fur-baby would be staying should you choose me as your pet sitter. My home is pet-friendly, safe, and quiet—perfect for dogs who enjoy a cozy, low-stress environment. I don’t have young children (their ages are 20, 16, & 14) or other pets, so your dog will receive one-on-one attention. I carefully introduce new dogs, supervise all interactions, and provide plenty of space for rest and play. Safety Practices: ~Always on-leash outdoors, unless in a securely fenced area ~Regular check-ins with you via photos, snapchat videos, and phone calls as needed ~Administer medications exactly as directed ~Clean, organized, secure spaces with no access to hazards ~Emergency vet contact and pet first-aid knowledge You can trust that your dog will be treated with kindness, patience, and experienced care every step of the way. I want you to feel completely at ease while you're away.

Information Angela B. would like to know about your pet

To provide the best possible care, I like to get to know each dog’s unique needs and personality before we start. Here are a few things that are especially helpful to know ahead of time: Daily routine: Feeding times, walk schedule, sleep habits, and any rituals that help your dog feel comfortable. Medical needs: Any medications, allergies, past injuries, or health concerns I should be aware of. Behavioral info: Are there any triggers, fears, reactivity, or quirks I should be mindful of? (e.g., anxiety, barking at other dogs, food guarding, etc.) Social habits: How does your dog do around other dogs, people, children, or in new environments? Commands & cues: What words or signals do they know and respond to? Emergency contacts: Your vet’s info and any backup contact you’d like me to have while you’re away. I’m here to make sure your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for—just as you would do yourself. The more I know, the better I can match their needs and keep things stress-free for everyone.

A typical day

Every day with a dog is a new adventure—and I love creating a routine that keeps them happy, relaxed, and engaged. A typical day starts with a gentle morning wake-up, followed by a potty break and a nice walk to get some energy out and sniff around. Breakfast is served based on your pup’s usual routine, and then we’ll have some quiet bonding time—brushing, play, or just some calm companionship. Throughout the day, I keep your dog’s routine consistent, with potty breaks, walks, play sessions, and plenty of affection. If your pup enjoys it and with your permission, we might go on a longer walk, spend time at the local dog park (approximately 5 minutes from my house), or enjoy some sun in a safe outdoor spot; my enclosed front porch is great for that! For older or more laid-back dogs, we’ll enjoy a relaxed day of cuddles and naps, with calm check-ins and a soothing environment. Evenings include a dinner routine, a light stroll, and winding down with more attention and love. I always make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for—just like they would with you. They are free to sleep on a comfortable dog cot or in the bed with me, which they usually prefer. And of course, I send regular photo and text updates so you always know how your furry friend is doing!

Availability

As a teacher of 17 years, I'm available full time during the school year for dog boarding in my home. Whether you're heading out for the weekend, traveling for work, or going on a week long vacation, your pup will have a safe, calm, and loving place to stay. Although I am a teacher, I will have an hour and half in the morning to feed, walk, and interact with your pup before heading to work and will be home at 3:20pm for the rest of the day during the school year. After I return home from work, your dog becomes my full focus. I make sure they get plenty of quality time, including a walk, playtime, cuddles, and any care or enrichment they need to get energy out and to wind down happily. Evenings are for connection—whether that’s a long sniffy stroll, interactive games, or simply relaxing together on the couch. I follow your pup’s routine closely and ensure they’re never lacking attention or companionship after a day of rest. To ensure a "pawsitive" experience while I'm away for part of the day, I keep the environment calm, safe, and cozy while I’m gone, and I give your dog all the love and interaction they deserve when I return. Here's a little more about my schedule: School Year (August-May): ~Full-time availability for boarding ~Flexible drop-off and pick-up times ~Weekday and weekend stays welcome School Holidays & Breaks: I remain fully available during school holidays and breaks, with even more time for long walks, enrichment, and personalized attention. Summer (June-July): I remain fully available during my summer brea, with even more time for long walks, enrichment, and personalized attention. With 30+ years of experience, I provide a peaceful, dog-friendly environment where your pet can feel relaxed, safe, and at home. I’ll keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you can travel worry-free!
