A home away from home.

Pet care experience

At my house, your pet will have: + two friendly dogs and two cats to play with + a pet door with free access to indoors and outdoors + a securely fenced yard (six foot wooden privacy) to romp around + all organic lawn care + enough space to get some alone time if s/he wants it And of course lots of love and attention from me, my partner, and my son! About this sitter: I work part-time as a massage therapist and yoga instructor. My partner is a chef, and our schedules are staggered so we are never gone for more than 4 hours at a time. My son has a special way of soothing nervous animals, and coaxing them to play. We are a family animal lovers. Our dogs enjoy having extra company. My yard is a certified wildlife habitat, which means there are lots of birds and squirrels to watch. The hardest thing about pet-sitting is saying goodbye when they return to their families! Why I love dog sitting My heart was melted by the first dogs I knew as a child, my uncle's Irish Setter name Rusty and my Grandma's Schnauzer named Gretchen. I didn't actually live with a dog (I did have cats and fishes) until about I cared for a friend's dog in my home for several months while she was coordinating a big move. Sharing my home with a dog brought so much warmth and cheer that I knew I needed to adopt a dog of my own. So, I adopted Melo from the Denver Dumb Friends League. I wanted to be the best adoptive dog parent I could be, so I read all kinds of books on puppy training, dog development, dog behavior, and nutrition. Melo and I took some positive training classes at Wag & Train where I learned that dog training is as much about teaching people as pets, and Melo earned Level 1 & 2 Good Behavior and Manners class certificates. Meet my pets Melo is a 14 year old mystery mixed breed dog that I adopted from DDFL. He is gentle and calm (well, he's calm after the initial excitement of meeting new friends, that is), and often has a calming effect on other dogs. He loves every person and dog he meets. Lucky was a little lost dog I found in the median of a busy street; he was scared and sad and showed many signs of neglect. With a lot of love and patience, he has learned his basic commands, has been socialized with dogs and people, is now very outgoing and affectionate, and he especially loves other dogs his size. Two cats also share our home. They warm up quickly to friendly dogs and sometimes even like to play. About my yard I have a large back yard with a six foot wooden privacy fence for secure room to run, and a large dog door dog for easy access (and of course I'll provide door service for dogs who aren't familiar with pet doors). My experience administering medication I can administer medication while you are away. Just let me know what method tends to work best for your pet.

We have used Angela for years. Starting with our late dog who was blind, to our new puppy. Angela is wonderful. We hope to always book with her.

Information Angela A. would like to know about your pet

Any health concerns that I should be aware of, where your pet prefers to walk/run/play, if there is anything that your pet really likes or dislikes, what ever is unique about caring for your pet.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks There is a dog park that is a short drive from my home for dogs who enjoy active and social time. Sand Creek Park is even closer for an on-leash walk in a nice urban wildlife area. We can always go for a walk around the neighborhood. And fetching in the yard is fun too. I'll do whatever your pet is most accustomed to and you are most comfortable with. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Where ever s/he is most comfortable--I'll try to keep it as similar to your routine as possible. Time I'll spend with your dog Dogs often need extra attention when their people are away; lots of love and play time can help reassure them in your absence.
