Pet care experience
I have been Pet Sitting for an established clientele in Northern California for 6+ years, and Southern California for 3 years. I absolutely love taking care of all animals (dogs, cats, fish, farm animals, you name it!) I worked as a Certified Veterinary Assistant for 4 years at Cameron Park Veterinary Hospital where I learned the medical side of being able to take care of animals. Anything to administering medications, fluids, vaccinations, and generally caring for their wellbeing. Otherwise, my whole life I grew up on property taking care of our "Zoo" consisting of: 3 dogs, 7 cats, 3 cockatiels, 1 snake, 4 hens, and 2 hogs. My weekends and schooldays were spent tending to the farm on campus. Part of what I love most about Pet Sitting is being able to give owner the peace of mind that their beloved pets are being loved and taken taken care of in the comfort of their own home.

Angel was a huge help to us by staying during the holidays with our sick pup and was comfortable giving him meds. The dogs were relaxed when we got home so clearly had exercise and stimulation. Since I work from home, I am able to keep a close eye on pets to make sure they’re not up to any mischievous activity. I always follow the Owner’s instructions to keep specific items away from the animal (power cords, food items, other animals etc) to ensure your pet is in a safe environment. I also never intentionally try to bring anything that may otherwise cause the animal to be in distress or have anxiety.

To me, what is most important, are any "trigger points" for any animals. Doorbells, other dogs, leash reactivity, and anything else that could make the pet uncomfortable while you are away.
A typical day
While I do work a typical 8 hour shift throughout the work-week, I love being able to take dogs on leisurely strolls in their neighborhood in the morning (so as not to hurt their paws in the afternoon sun). My favorite places to go with pups are to nice parks, but I am always comfortable doing whatever the pet feels comfortable doing.

I have the option to work from home with the company I am at, so I enjoy being able to spend time with pets first thing in the morning, on my lunch break, and after work. When I am housesitting over the weekend, I try to make sure to make them extra fun with any furry friend since they were so patient with me while I was working during the week!
