Pet care experience
I have had the pleasure of cohabitating with many kinds of animals, from a very young age to the present day. I have done rescue admin work, fostering, fundraising and transportation for the past 2 decades. I have had multiple dogs that required special homemade diets, medication, and assistance over the years. Nothing is more satisfying than witnessing an ill or injured animal flourish in your care. Bringing them back to the state of health and happiness that they deserve. Some of the animals that I have cared for over the years include dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, fish, snakes, skinks, and all kinds of birds – from little finches all the way up to the big boys like Cockatoos & Macaws.

I have known Angel since 2006, when we adopted a six-year-old Jack Russell, Henry, whom she and her husband were fostering. While they were fostering Henry, she took loving care of him, nursing him through his recovery from knee surgery and even buying him a kiddie pool to splash around in when he showed no interest in the big swimming pool. I know that she loves animals and will take care of the pets of others like those pets were her own. Angel is one of the few people I would trust with the life of my dog and the keys to my house.
Angel has cared for my three cats for over 8 years. She has a great passion for all pets and animals. She is very responsible and reliable. I have been able to depend on her when I must be out of town for business, sometimes with short notice. She not only cares for my pets and gives them loving attention, but also waters my indoor and outside plants while I'm away. It brings me great relief knowing my pets and home are in good hands. As someone who has been a caretaker of pets and children for over 6 years, I cannot emphasize how much I would recommend Angel.
I cannot say enough good thing about Angel. For 6 years I was the rescue representative for Michigan for The Jack Russell Terrier Club of America. Angel and I live on opposite sides of the state and she quickly became the “west side Wonder Woman” of our group of volunteer warriors. She did everything from evaluate terriers, speak to adopters, transport and foster! And a lot of time goes into all of that. Angel even provided her talent with unique crafts to make things for our auctions etc. All to help raise funds for precious misunderstood or abused little terriers. I would trust Angel with all of my own dogs! And believe me, they are my children! Anyone who gets Angel as a dog walker will not only be able to feel 100% secure, but their dog will gain a lifelong friend! She has managed to handle one of the most difficult breeds every time at 200%. She has a gift to understand ‘dog’ and will know each individual in only minutes. I can it recommend her highly enough.

We live in a Ranch style house right next to the Gull Lake Schools in Richland. We have a fenced in backyard with an inground pool. Our neighborhood is quiet and has no drive-through traffic. Dembe and I enjoy our walks around the neighborhood, on the school’s campus, and also a nearby Dog Park in Galesburg called River Oaks. Dembe is a very friendly dog and really loves small dogs. We are non-smokers, and we allow pets on the furniture and in our beds.

A typical day
Daily walks in our neighborhood and Gull Lake school’s campus, with plenty of time to smell all the smells. Visits to his favorite dog park to play with friends. Dembe also enjoys playing in the sprinkler in the summer time. We also are working on commands, he’s a very smart dog. We also play with him and his toys indoors.

Availability
I am available most days and times, including last minute requests and holidays. Dembe’s routine is breakfast in the morning, we feed him farmers dog food. His coat is so fabulous since we provided this food. We go to work, and he holds down the sofa until we get home. My husband feeds him dinner when he gets home, and then when I get home from work, we all go on a walk. On weekends, if weather permits, we typically go to the dog park. At night, Dembe sleeps with his favorite human, my husband. We have separate bedrooms due to different schedules. And now, mostly because Dembe is a BIG DOG. He takes up half the bed. Trash Can Sally lives in a closure in our basement. It is an open area, with tunnels, little houses, a large cage that is left open, sun light, blankets and toys. We provide her with a fresh salad every morning. We give her unlimited hay, several diverse kinds. There is always fresh water and pellets. She’s not a big fan of the pellets, but she loves all the hay. I give her a bunny treat in the morning. And after Dembe’s walk, we go down and say hi to her, give her all the pets and another bunny treat. Dembe loves visiting her, and she does not mind him one bit.
