Pet care experience
I'm a shift worker so I'm available at odd hours during the week and weekend to help take care of your friends, at their home or my own. My availability when I'm not working is extremely flexible. Be aware that when I am working, I'm probably not available at all but might be able to squeeze in an evening walk or visit. I need to meet your pet before they come into my home, so walking or home visits are required for introductions. I have my own dog (Roman, 60 pound male mixed breed) who loves making new friends. If you don't want him in the picture, that's ok too. I'm a very active person and like taking dogs for walks or, if preferred, some backyard play. Dogs I know are also welcome to come with me on some adventures to trails and parks (at the owner's behest, of course). If your dog is more of a couch potato, I'm sure we can either find some common ground and hang out or, if you'd like, I can try to get them up and moving!

My only criteria for bringing another dog to my place is they have to meet my dog first and make sure they get along in a neutral setting. Roman is extremely social and accomodating, but we need everyone to have peace of mind. If a dog is staying in my house everyone needs to be comfortable with each other before any arrangements are made. If your dog is selective about their friendships, I'm happy to take care of them where they live.
A typical day
I do walks in varied circuits around my neighborhood. If owners are ok with it and the dog can handle it, I also like taking dogs on short hikes in local parks and conservation areas. I have a good sized backyard and a range of activities to do back there. Fetch, hide and seek, scent games and pursuit are all on the table. I'm also able to accomodate less active, older or disabled dogs with some consultation.
