Pet care experience
Hello everyone! I appreciate you taking the time to get to know me! I JUST RECENTLY MOVED :) Hooray! My Experience: I’ve cared for a variety of animals in my 10+ years of experience. The majority of my animal care consists of dogs and cats but I’ve also looked after other animals from birds and bunnies to horses, pigs, and other farm animals. My experience has come from previous jobs I’ve had, working at a local farm and operating my own handyman company. Recently, I took a brief pause from Rover to volunteer at the Animal Refuge League but I’m back and ready to look after your furry friends!

Andrew was wonderful with our dog Winnie. He is good at communication, sending photos and updates every day while we were away. He paid attention to her medical needs and he even sent her home with a bag of treats. Very thoughtful!

Andrew is the kind of person you want to find to care for your pets when you are away. professional, caring, personable, realistic about how pets may act with a stranger in their home, but your cats will warm up to him quickly anyway. Andrew asks all the right questions up front; care, feeding habits, daily life, things to keep working on and and things to know. Knowing that i can have a person i can trust and that really cares means i can travel more and that is huge for me. Looking forward to my next trip and knowing i don’t have to worry about my pets bc andrew is checking in on them- if he isn't fully booked. :)
Andrew was so great with watching my little guy for a few days! He sent plenty of updates, went on tons of walks and did some puppy playdates as well. He was extremely communicative and kind. Would absolutely recommend and even utilize his boarding again!

My Home: My new apartment is located right across from Eighty Eight Donuts and adjacent to Lincoln Park. I'm also in walking distance to a number of other parks such as Deering Oaks, Baxter Woods, and the East End Beach since I'm right in the center of Portland! I live in a one bedroom which provides more than enough space for both myself and the animals I’m caring for. My apartment building also has a wonderful courtyard which is perfect for the late night potty breaks for some fresh air :). There are many new potential friends to be made too since my apartment is pet-friendly!

Before I care for any animal, I will coordinate with you to set up a screening call where we will run through the topics I’ve listed below. If you’re not sure on one or if it’s a last minute booking, that isn’t a deal breaker. The call helps me gather as much information as I can beforehand to ensure an absolutely amazing stay for both you and your little loved one! - Food schedules, meals, any special medications and/or diets - Any disabilities or unique notes about your pet - Any medical/contact information - Typical day when your pet is home - Number of times your pet is let outside - If your pet can be left alone, number of hours they’re typically left alone for, and maximum hours they can be left alone (In the event of an emergency) - Rules that should continue to be enforced (ex. Not being on furniture) - Behavior with other pets, staying with other pets - Behavior on and off leash/recall - Confirming what to bring for the stay - Confirmation of the proposed booking dates and times
A typical day
Walks, puzzles, a movie, you name it! I love to do a variety of different activities depending on what your pet loves to do! I am both a high-energy environment and a relaxing nap pod!

My Schedule: My primary occupation is in solar energy where I assist Maine residents and businesses, helping them enroll in the community solar program! As an independent contractor, this allows me to also focus on other projects and provides me with the flexibility and time I need to ensure your pet is as happy and relaxed as possible while you’re away!
