I love dogs more then humans.

Pet care experience

People are always surprised how well I am with dogs. Earning there trust is key. I am the guy who is often getting yelled by coworkers and family because I have to say hi to every dog I see. Every dog I've owned has always been a favorite of people, well trained, healthy and a good friend. I look at them as creatures of God and to be treated humanly. I have been known to be the "reject dog house." Mostly fostering and adopting the dogs out or the one out of my friends and family to always take on a couple extra dogs so they can go out of town. I am a Marine Combat Veteran which I believe helps me connect with dogs. I feel like I connect with dogs better than I do most humans. I love watching dogs be dogs.

Andrew loves animals like no one else I know. Your pets will always be safe with him. His house has become the house where animals can come and play, stay for days or weeks and have a great time.

In my experiences with Andrew, he treats every dog as an instant family member. Very gentle and eager to gain each animals attention. I would often have to remind him that we were, in fact, there to finish a job and not simply to pay attention to other peoples pets. 10/10 I would recommend.

Safety, trust & environment

The pets are part of the family no matter who's there owner. They always seem to blend in. I'd prefer they don't kill a chicken but even then I will work with them they are dogs. If allowed I keep all my pork and venison scrapes that I raise and shoot. It is literally dog heaven at my house. They may get dirty and chase the pigs or chickens or find an old deer bone in the back yard. I live in the center of an 8 acre plot. If your dog is not a runner, they have access to all of it. Even my neighbor enjoys meeting my family's dogs. It really all depends on the personality of the dog. If the dogs need special care I can adapt.

Information Andrew H. would like to know about your pet

Really think of it as watching a kid. The dog can do this, can't do that. This is their food. These are their commands. Let me know about aggressive issues or anxiety. Aggressive issues I can work with on weeks with no kids. Anxiety let me know there calming methods and triggers.

A typical day

A typical day with your dog would be dependent on the weather. We definitely have cool places to go on walks. Hiking and exploring is part of my life. To take my kids out and explore the beauty of Northern Michigan is a privilege. The dogs will always join us. I bring doggy bowls for water and always have doggy treats. They will do things from play in rivers, ponds, inland lakes and Lake Michigan to playing fetch and chasing turkeys off my back porch.

I am a retired Veteran. I make my own schedule for the most part as I am a contractor. I often take dogs to pretty cool places. Whether it be a trip to the park with the kids or on a hike at some of the best places in Northern Michigan. Where ever I go the dogs go. I also have an indoor out door Kennel and a 150ft lead if needed. If inside dogs they will pretty much sleep in the house with us. I've taken on two boxers, border collie, shiatsu, two German shepards at once, and I loved it. My kids are also very active with the dogs. I will plan out my days and week depending on the dogs I have.
