Hello! Thank you for checking out my profile! My name is Andrea and my pronouns are she/her/hers. Since I was a child, I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind, cats, turtles, fish, rabbits, hamsters, and chickens. I’m open to taking care of a snake but I might need a minute to get comfortable! I grew up with a sweet, special needs bichon frise and cocker spaniel. In 2016, I started house sitting and walking dogs for clients, neighbors, friends, and family. I have experience with all dogs- young, old, and special needs. I have given medication to cats and dogs for medical conditions and separation anxiety, in addition to providing extra love and care. I love animals and would be glad to help you have a wonderful vacation knowing your pets are well cared for! If you have any questions, feel free to be in touch. A little more about my background: I graduated in 2009 from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education with a concentration in Health Promotion and Culture. Before changing careers to teaching, I was a founder and director of a non-profit for returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. I then worked at a free health clinic as the Community Health Education Coordinator.

Andrea has watched our 3 dogs several times now. Each time has been a positive experience. The dogs are taken care of, she plays with them, takes them swimming, sends videos and pictures of their interactions. The dogs have a great time. The house is always clean and organized after her stay. I recommend Andrea anytime I hear someone needs a pet sitter. I don't worry leaving my furbabies in her care. You won't be disappointed.
Andrea watched my sisters cats for almost 4 months. It was originally supposed to be six weeks but the hospitalization for my sister dragged on. Andrea stepped up without issue was communicative, extremely helpful during the very trying period. She did a wonderful job watching the cats who are both healthy and my sister was extremely happy for the care they received. I highly recommend Ondrea for any type of pet sitting without reservation. She is a wonderful resource. I can’t think of her enough for everything she’s done.
Andrea was fantastic with Pip! We went away on a long vacation and she took great care of him, especially when he got sad that we were gone for so long. Pip loved being with Andrea and we have full confidence leaving Pip with her any time we have to travel.
Andrea was such a pleasure to work with and our dog Otto fell in love with her the moment they met. We hired Andrea to stay with Otto in our home for a few days while we traveled overseas. Everything was super easy, we got periodic pic/video updates and we travelled without worrying about Otto's care. At our meet-and-greet, we can go over any information you would like to share. I'm willing to provide services that will best care for your dog's individual needs. Some questions: * Who can I call in case of an emergency? * Does your pet have any existing injuries, health concerns, bumps? Can they be picked up? * Where are towels to dry the dog after being in the rain? * Where can I find cleaning supplies and stain remover? * How many treats should I give? How often? * Are there any quirks I should know about? (For example, the dog doesn't like people wearing backpacks or the sliding door lock can be finicky.)
A typical day
We can run, walk, and play fetch. Plus of course all the hugs, kisses, and snuggles! I love the dog beach on 8th Ave in Asbury Park and Yappy Hour!

Availability
I'm a vaccinated teacher (Special Education and English Language Learners in middle school) and live in Asbury Park. I teach during the day so I'm available for pet care and housesitting on weekdays after 3:30pm and weekends. I am currently finishing my Master of Education in Special Education. As an online graduate student, it works well for me to keep pets company while I do my grad school homework.
