I’ve been taking care of both dogs and cats ever since I was 12! Neighbors and family friends often relied on me to walk their dogs after school, stop by to check on their food and make sure they received love and play time. By the time I was in high school, I started taking care of their pets while they took vacations or during holidays. Their pets ranged from puppies of all breeds, dogs of all breeds and sizes, cats, and even fish! I’m very familiar with training puppies, and the play time they want. I’m comfortable with walking bigger dogs, and have learned the correct body language to remain in control. I remain attentive to the age, breed, and size of dog to know if they need longer walks or ways to get their energy out and keep them mentally stimulated especially according to an owner’s instructions. With more senior dogs, I’m always very patient if they’re a little slower moving, and want to make sure they’re as comfortable as possible with their specific needs, while making sure they get the care and attention they deserve. Cats of course can vary with how social they are with new people, and will always try to earn trust but completely understand if they are more likely to hide, and keep food and water always fresh and full. In addition, I also have my own experience with my own pets, which also makes me give the most effort to others’ furry children. I’ve had fish and even turtles when I was younger. For my whole life, I’ve been the primary caretaker and biggest lover of my family dogs. Growing up I had a Scottish Terrier who I cared for, and loved deeply. After he passed, is when I got my dog now, Prince who is also a Scottish Terrier. He can be quite mischievous and has such a unique personality, and has given me more experience and understanding with dogs who may try to outsmart you, but they are always my favorite!
