In my house I have a free roaming tortoise who needs to be fed in the morning with some good greens, he usually chooses when he wants to eat so we let him walk around until he comes by to his feeding area. When it comes to client's pets they usually leave me instructions. Some ask me to feed their pets once a day due to dietary restrictions, some get food twice a day. One of my clients needs me to walk their dog once in awhile so I come by and let them out in the yard (they instruct me not to put a leash on her and not get her out of the backyard). Another one of my client's has a skidding cat that is nervous and needs to be mostly left alone and not bothered because she gets scared. Everyone definitely varies, though!
